We made this reservation months in advance, received a confirmation for a room with a "sea view". When we arrived, they didn't have our room available, so substitued with a bungalow...where the AC never worked and where we had to stay for 2 days until they could try to fix it. We had to be forceful in getting another room with working AC. ALL the rooms were clean, but need lots of updating. The room we ended up with had a desk with a broken drawer...that had been painted open and unfixed. We were given only 2 bath towels, no hand or wash towels...and they were old and tattery. The stated internet (discount) rate was $1000 + baht, but most people were only paying 600-800...which is all this hotel is worth (about $12-20 USD). The pool area is large with a nice view, and the hotel restaurant has good food. The location is only about 1/2 mile to the beach, but the roads are very busy to walk as there isn't much of a sidewalk. For a nicer hotel close to the beach, yet quiet, try the Patong Resort (which we switched to). We found Phuket, in general, to be way too crowded, smelly, and dirty. No beach excursions to Phi Phi Island were encouraged because of all the construction there, just snorkeling.
