If you are on a budget and are looking for a nice clean place to lay your head, look no further. The reviews on this hotel are very accurate, but to sum them up: This is a basic 3-star hotel, it's clean, and the people who run it are friendly. That being said, think twice if you are looking for a high quality romantic spot on the beach (our friends stayed at the Banthai, which is more appropriate for higher expectations). The PB is rustic and a 2 block walk from the beach. It's nice and quiet and if you splurge on a garden room ($50 extra total for 9 nights for us), then you get the feel you are away from the hustle and bustle of it all. The pool is a great lounge spot as well. The breakfast buffet is basic and is pretty much the same every day. We didn't eat there at any other time, but cheap restaurants and food vendors are literally steps from your doorway. And because it isn't on the sea-side main drag, restaurants and services (ie. massages) tend to be less expensive. Knowing what we do about the place, we would stay there again.

Ground floor rooms at rear on main wing very poor. Would suggest you request pool facing or upstairs room. Otherwise pay small extra charge like we did to have one of the Bayshore Wing bungalows which are lovely.
Great little pool area with bar, plus free pool/beach towels on request.
Breakfast basic but enough choice to start the day with, just ignore the moody chef cooking the eggs!
As mentioned the hotel is in a great location ten minutes from the beach and centre. Putting it far enough for peace but close enough to walk everywhere.
Walk out of hotel to right you'll find cheaper restaurants.
If you want a no frills central place to sleep then this is it.

After reading the reviews this placed seemed like one of the best available options and I was happy to find that most of the reviews had been accurate. We booked whatever the cheapest room was at the time, (about 60 US/night) we were upgraded for free due to over booking so we ended up with a large room with separate sitting area, large washroom, full size fridge etc. Pool area and grounds were beautifully maintained, breakfast was included in our price. It was standard, nothing to rave about, but did the trick. The beach was a short walk away (less than 10 min) We loved this hotel because it was close enough to all the attractions (beach, shopping restaurants etc), but was far enough away that we could spend a quiet, relaxing evening by the pool.

My wife & i stayed in this hotel for 4 days. The hotel is located at strategic place and it is just walking distance to patong beach, nightlife, food stalls, shopping complex (Robinson & Carrefour)...

About the hotel, the room is big with basic furnished. No tea/coffee mixer. The hotel need to improve on the hot & cold shower controls. Besides that, the hotel & the rooms are kept tidy & clean.

I must say, the breakfast menus need to improve. During my 4 days stay, my breakfast was almost the same with toast breads, eggs, sausages and 2 types of local dishes (either potato whipped or fried rice). We tried their dinner set, and to my suprise they taste really good and the menus are great. I wonder why they can't follow for the breakfast session.

Even there are some hiccups, but we liked the hotel. Its very convinient for us to get around everywhere. Their hospitality is good, but very less people speak English.

Overall, Patong Bayshore Hotel is great for value.

i just stayed here last week. it was situated at a good location .. very near to everything... money changer, family mart, massage center, travel agent booth, food stall all within 2-3 min walk.. practically it was great. i enjoyed the stay.

the swimming pool was OK ... took a dip after my snorkeling trip..the beach is about 5-10 min walk.. bangla road around 10 min walk.. tuk tuk ride ( 150 Baht - plz bargain more!! can get 100 Baht ) about 1 min only..

however the room was a bit worn down but considering it was three star hotel... OK for me.. the bed was a bit hard. no hot water.... no coffee/tea making facilities... breakfast was ok... same thing every day.. cereal.. juice.. toast.. coffee/tea... eggs.. and one or two local dishes... but i guess it a standard for a 3 star hotel.

the staff are friendly... even tough there was language difficulties... but they did try their best in assisting us..

overall i would recommend this hotel for budget traveller.. i got the rooms for a cheap price!! bad side was .. my room had no view... juz facing the wall.... but it was OK for me.. good location.. good price...

Tips: do not stay and confine yourself in the room.. a bit stuffy...
go out and do something....
