The Salathai offers standards that would put a 5 star hotel to shame. The staff were so helpful and courteous, nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant was fantastic with so many sea food choices from a display at the front, and the prices were so reasonable. It was so popular with both hotel guests and visitors from the street, that tables for dinner had be reserved for each night.
Transport to and from the airport was arranged by the hotel, and this was on time and at a respectable price.
The garden and pool is a little oasis of peace in a very busy town, away from the massage touts, indian tailors and tuk-tuk drivers. The pool is kept in excellent condition with plenty of sunbeds, and a little library of books left by previous guests.
It is situated at the quieter end of Patong, just a stone's throw from the beach, so that beach sunbeds are generally available at any time. If you didn't feel like walking in the evening, a tuk-tuk to the Bangla Road entertainment area costs just 200 baht, but it's only a ten minute walk anyway.
