Between 27thJan and3rd Febr.2012 I stayed in the above hotel for a week. The hotel, as a 4 star one had been recommended to me by my agent of ITAKA. In general, I am am afraid it was a mistake comparing to the overal opijion the hotel has. First of all it is 100km from the airport to the hotel, it means the journey takes well over one hour - no commentary. The menu-well every day the same very limited breakfast choice, namely the same only 2 kinds of eggs served, practically one kind of bread, green vegs cut very thick and served very cold, that for me was not very tasty,no musli cereals, but some kind of things liked by children. The other hot stuff is perhaps good for lunch, but not for breakfast. The other meals are simple and modest. It was my 4th visit to Tunesia, so I have a good comparison.
The room- simply furnished with old, used pieces of furniture, not welcoming, the balcony ok, with a small table and two armchairs, shower and a basin. Cleaned every day, no problem but the carpet in the long corridor as dirty as could be!!! Waiters and the other staff ok,always with a smile. The "all inclusive" option in this hotel is limited to local medium quality vodka and sth. called whisky being in fact far away from its name. This opinion is based on my previous stays in eg. RIU, or IBEROSTAR hotels. No stewed fruits- which usually add very much to the variety
The hotel overlooks a beach with very nice view onto Hammamet Jasmine and old Hammamet,UNFORTUNATELY you have to take a fast, 25min. walk to get to the nearest bus stop (this fact is not mentioned in the leaflets), or you can take a taxi-the fare to the bus stop or medina is 4 dinars. In the time I was there the hotel looked "dead", about 100 guests only! in a huge hotel, most of them quite old, on wheelchairs, the atmosphere really not inviting. Any extra attractions, except for the roofed pool extra paid, eg 1 hour at the internet -6dinars, while in any internet cafe in town only 1 dinar. On the whole the hotel is not an attractive place to stay, left no memory to return. One more thing-evening entertainment is on a very low level, animators-juniors the guests entertained themselves just dancing to every day the same music played.
It is difficult for me to advise you this hotel, may be the sad climate in the hotel was because of the time of the year, but my 3 former stays were always in February, so I do believe that it is the hotel staff that created the atmosphere. It is definitely not a 4 star hotel.
One last thing - the ITAKA resident appeared on the day of our arrival, ok, but once learning that I had been to Tunesia before, did not have anything to offer me, then she appeared on Thursday, one day before the departure, well, wasn't that a little too late?
