Don't waste your money at the Kalamar Beach Club - enjoy a far superior, cheaper meal at House. After 2 average lunches at the Beach Club - very slow service and poor food - we decided to walk uphill to look for an alternative. Just 5 minutes later we were sitting on a shady terrace, drinking delicious frozen home-made lemonade and looking at an enticing menu. For the next 5 days we lunched here!
Ali's menu features a mix of Turkish dishes and more international fare like burgers, pasta and pizzas. There are a range of salads, including fried goat's cheese and lemon chicken, which are flavourful and filling. The hummus and carrot dips are excellent starters and the blackcurrent ice-cream was mouth-watering. My sons were delighted to discover that the house burger was topped with real bacon and the 'orange segment' chips were crispy and golden. He even serves italian coffee!
This is a particularly welcoming restaurant. Fish-stick the dog (don't know how it's spelt but it means 'peanut' in Turkish!) is totally adorable and Ali and his staff go out of their way to make the experience enjoyable. When my son concussed himself on the water trampoline, Ali instantly offered to take us to the Doctor's!
Do visit House Cafe - you are guaranteed a delicious meal.
