After two weeks on the road in Turkey we treated ourselves to luxury accomodations at the Hilton. This hotel offers amazing price-quality value. The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable, a welcome respite. The bathroom is large, luxurious and well stocked with Neutrogena producst. The wifi is free, as is the parking. There is also a complimentary tea and coffee service in the room which was also a welcome change from everywhere else. Another amazing feature were the guest laundry facilities. For 10 Lira you could wash and dry a large load of laundry in a specially reserved laundry facility on the first floor, and that includes soap and fabric softener. But what really made our stay special was the exceptional service of the front desk staff , specifically Mr. Olmur and Ms. Melmer who spoke excellent English and went above and beyond to make sure that we ate at the best places and knew exactly what was going on around town. As we were staying at the hotel on a Saturday night, they made sure that we went to see the whirling dervishes at the Cultural Center next door. It was a fabulous experience and free of charge. Tip: if you are a Rumi fan, there are books in English available on the ground floor of the Cultural Center which can be purchased after the show and cost half of what is being charged at the Mosque Museum store. This hotel is also a short walk from the Mevlana Mosque and Museum as well as the Old Bazaar.
There is complimentary tea and coffee service in the lobby all day long, and fresh baked cookies served starting at 5 PM every day.
A wonderful treat after a day of sight seeing! We just can’t say enough.
