Just returned from a week at this amazing hotel. The rooms are clean and modern and well looked after. Rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels provided every day even though we didn't need them. They also provide shower gel, shampoo and conditioner (also of an excellent quality) and this was also refilled every day. There is water available in the mini bar which is free too. The air conditioning is controlled by you in the hotel room and this worked well for us.
The hotel staff are excellent, very friendly and hard working and aim to make your stay enjoyable. The food is also lovely - very tasty and fresh. There is a good choice at every meal and there was also plenty of food. Some of the choices we had included lasagne, salmon pasta, beef stroganoff, chicken with ginger and soy, deep fried fish, turkey roll etc. There are no 'sittings' so you can go the restaurant at whatever time suits you. There is also a pool bar where they make fresh pizza and chips/nuggets/rice/bread etc in the day. We drank the Efes beer and the white wine mostly - also very nice.
The A La Carte Restaurant is interesting. Unlike other AI resorts, this a la carte restaurant you have to pay extra for. Having said that, it's only 8 euros/38 lira. We decided to go one night just for a change. The food was, as you'd expect, delicious and there was plenty of it.The restaurant itself is also quiet and has a lovely atmosphere/decor. However, we were the only ones in the restaurant and this made us feel a little awkward. The food was also rushed. As soon as one course was over, the next one arrived and we felt a little overwhelmed! We noticed that there was no-one in there at all for the rest of the week so it's worth seeing how busy it is before you book,
Other lovely touches include a pianist playing the digital baby grand in the patisserie/bar area. He was there in the afternoon (5pm ish) and every evening between 10-11pm . Cakes and coffee were also available here at 5pm.
The pool area is clean and well maintained and we never had a problem getting a sun bed. The entertainment team are also excellent and provide a wide variety of activities day and night. The evening entertainment isn't amazing but they are clearly trying their best and it was quite amusing to watch. They had two live bands on while we were there and they were excellent. Most nights, they came around to ask if you wanted to go to Bar Street and they would take you in and provide a free drink in a bar.
A previous review has mentioned the other nationalities staying at this hotel. From our experience, there were guests from all over the place - Russia. France, Germany, Iran, Uk...and this caused no problems whatsoever. All the women were in bikinis and drinking was not an issue. In fact, there was a lovely atmosphere throughout the hotel.
The only reasons I haven't given this a 5 star (I'd like to give it 4 1/2!) is because the replenishment of water/toilet roll/items in the room wasn't consistent. Also, beach towels aren't provided. You can hire them for 30 lira but we didn't see the point in giving our money in at reception for it to be returned when we left and wouldn't need it! Another guest said that you could leave a deposit in another currency but we weren't offered this at the time. The female toilets by the pool were not always pleasant in the afternoon. Also, it was quite noisy some mornings - the cleaners clearly start early. Plus, the rooms on the right hand side of the hotel have great views but overlook some sort of bird area and we were woken several times by a cockerel! (Not the hotel's fault obviously!) However, this didn't detract from the fact that this was an excellent hotel where we had no real problems or issues and had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.
Other titbits of information which might help: The hotel is quite a distance from the centre of Marmaris. It is walkable, but it takes about 45 minutes along the paved coastal path which runs the length of the bay. This is okay at night when it's a little cooler but in the day it nearly killed us! A taxi to Marmaris costs about 18 lira (£8) but you can also get Taxi boats from various points along the beach which cost about 10 lira per person. Icmeler is closer and a much nicer walk in the day as there is shade under the trees. You can also get a taxi boat from Icmeler which is well worth the money. There are water sports available along the beach which is only a thirty second walk from the hotel and there are sunbeds available for hotel guests on the beach as well. It is not a sandy beach, however. If you're looking for further entertainment/night life, there are a few bars along the front but you need to go into Marmaris (Bar Street) for the real nightlife.
We had a fantastic week here and I can highly recommend it. We stayed at the Barut Hemera in Side last year and the Casa is heading towards the same standard!
