My Partner and I went to the Nergis Beach on 20th May for 2 weeks with our friends and thier 11 yr daughter, we all went with open minds after reading good and bad reviews. Our first impressions of the hotel were good when we arrived at 7.30 on the morning, Check in was very efficient anfd we were given rooms in that block (rose)
Our rooms were average, ours overlooking the pool and our friends overlooking the entertainment area/road. Wardrobe space was minimum unless we had too many clothes!
The food was fine for first couple of days or so but then we soon disccovered that you got the same nearly every day and night, breakfast was the better meal of the day as there was omelettes/ fried eggs or pancakes cooked as you ordered them outside by a friendly happy guy as well as all your usual continental breakfast choices and cereals etc. lunchtime and evening meals consisted of chicken or meatballs in various sauces, chips, a vegetable choice and a salad bar, there was something always been cooked outside but it was again normlly chicken. We went and ate out everynight for the last 10 days of our holiday because we couldn't stomach the food anymore and usually had a bite for lunch from outside, Asmens, the little snack bar on the beach next door to the hotel was a favourite. There were a lot of British people in the hotel and this was the main complaint of everyone that we spoke too, the food.
The alcoholic drinks weren't a lot better, they were very weak and watered down, we noticed they got a little stronger the last 2 or 3 days of our holiday for some reason.
We have all been on numerous all inclusive holidays in Turkey and Spain and this has been the worst hotel for food and drinks. We all ended up spending alot more than we budgeted for!
You had to be up early to be able to get a sunbed by the main pool, the one which is in the brochure but the pools near the stage areas weren't as busy but you would have a walk for any food or snacks throughout day in restaurant.
You are required to wear clothing over your bikini within the restaurant, I was advised by one of the waiters on our first day which was fair enough and then again later in the week as we stood looking around, I did have my top with me ready to put on. We did notice however that this wasn't applied to everyone and some people were permitted to sit and eat with bikinis on, I pointed this out to the waiter and asked why? Lack of consistancy I feel. I know it sounds petty but it was the principle.
I can't comment on the entertainment on an evening time as we went out each night.
We all had a Turkish bath and Massage including a face mask, friends daughter had the facial mask and it was very reasonable priced and worth every penny, the Turkish guy, Ossie who works in the baths was a really friendly guy and always made the effort to come and to us on more than one occaision every day.
The overall holiday was good and we laughed most of the time, Marmaris is a nice resort and you can have the holiday you want but the Nergis Beach is not a hotel any of us would return too.
