Very good indeed! Fantastic room design with many facilities and several swimming pools. Beautiful beach and good restaurants. Very nice atmosphere and fantastic staff.
We spent 6 nights at the resort (not to be confused with the Hilton Hotel). Coming from Dubai we are already spoilt with 5 star luxury and service but we were not disappointed here.
This was a family beach holiday and was just right. Despite kids activities being minimal they (8, 12 and 14 yo) played on the near perfect beach which is regularly cleaned by the staff. There are several pools including one with a slide. We had intended to drive down the coast but because everyone was content with the resort we decided to stay put. One trip into the town was more than enough. There really is nothing to see or do and the shopping mall is not entertaining - just functional.
The water activities are extras and we only rented a ride on an inflatable raft pulled by the speedboat. Boys loved it. We wanted to do it again but the boat was out of action as was the banana ride.
There are some beach bars but breakfast and the evening meals are all in one place at the far end of the bay. There is an a la carte menu but you eat in the same place as the buffet which everyone seems to have. Choice and variety were good and for families this is easy and fun. Like most hotels in UAE and as we expected nothing was cheap but a big breakfast with waffles (if you asked) set us up for the day which was then finished off with the evening themed buffet. By the end of the stay the 'all you can eat' concept was becoming more of burden than a treat though.
The children had their own room in the next door villa. There was loads of room for three boys although two had to share a queen sized bed. Parents had a junior suite on the ground floor with a lawn in front and beyond that the beach and sea.
Finally - and the one negative - we were taken aback on arrival at the sight of the construction site at one end of the bay complete with tall cranes. This is the new hotel due to open phase 1 at the end of 2008. We were told it would not be noticed and generally it was not too bad. Work starts early but tails off at sunset, is finished by 9 and there is none on Friday. You sometimes were aware of noise and cannot help but see it from the restaurant end of the bay. The older beach club part of the resort is right next door so the clatter and view are much more noticeable. If you have been to Dubai you will easily take this all in your stride but if you are not used to the sound of hammer drills and construction vehicles you could be upset. Our family recommendation is to be aware, go anyway and spend your time on the beach and pools away from the site. Once the hotel opens the character of the resort may change as it gets busier but there should be more to do and a choice of places to eat.

The Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa is a great resort. The hotel is laid out in free-standing chalets, with 4 guest rooms per chalet. The chalets are spread out in well maintained gardens. Ours (room 736) was near the restaurant end of the resort and had a playground and pool near it which was very convenient. Our spacious room was on the ground floor with grass in front of it leading directly onto the beach. The well appointed bathroom was a good size. The decor was light and airy. The main pool with the water slide for the children was at the other end of the resort but only a lovely walk on the beach away or a golf cart ride away.
I thought the buffet meals were good although my friend thought they could have been better. Children under 12 (I think) ate the buffet meals free of charge. The food at the main pool was very good and I still dream of their Caesar salad. The staff were very helpful and professional. I would go back to the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort & Spa in a flash.

My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Ras Al Khaimah resort from February 1 -12, 2008 for a nice winter break.
Unfortunately the weather was a bit upset, never happened in the Emirates, was a bit windy but after a few days the weather became a lot better.
Besides this we had an fabulous stay in a Junior Suite in one of the Resort villa's with direct entrance to the beach which was very clean and well kept by the beach boys. There are life guards at the beach the whole day to keep an eye on children or people who want to swim, even in this period when it was not too busy.
A nice bar/restaurant The Dome at the beach with sometimes live music was great to have a small lunch or drinks. Roomservice even came by on the beach to serve food and/or drinks in your beach chair.
The restaurant at the end of the beach and the villa's has a nice roof top bar, overlooking the sea and besides the buffet they serve a la carte as well.
It is a bit of a walk to either the restaurant or the reception desk along the villa's but Resort club cars are driving along all the time, so you can hop on if you would like to. You can even give them a ring and they will pick you up, but we loved to have a bit of a walk sometimes.
The only thing we felt was missing, was a greater variety of restaurants, but this will be solved when the resort Hotel will be finished. This is being built at this moment behind the villa's but we were not in any way disturbed by noise or anything else from the building site.
We even got a 30 minute voucher for a massage in the Spa, which is gorgeous, a lovely Indian lady gave me a special öil dripping" massage. You should really try this. The Spa has separate rooms for men and ladies which was a disappointment for my husband and me but in these countries it is not allowed to have one for men and women together.
The Resort staff is superb and helpful, they really treat you as important guests, everyone greets you, not one exception.
We played golf at the Tower Link Golf Club a few times which is a nice course and you can get a nice discount when you book through the Hilton.
We definitely will be back for a winter break!!!!!
