hi everyone!
kuching is great.
here is one of the attractions i went to.
Cultural village (living museum) : in the cultural village you will be able to feel the experience of being in an long house, having a look at the shrunken head (real),blowing a blow pipe and watching the different tribe dances.(the dances happen in a theater). around the cultural museum you will visit different tribe houses. you will actually see some of the tribe people and try out their items such as blowing a blow pipe, walking their bamboo bridges, and trying their rice flower maker.
i advise you to go by yourself and not by the tour.that way you save more money and get to follow your own time schedule.
p.s bring your own food if you want to have a snack there.food there is overly priced and tasteless.

thanks

What a sensational place. Someone has really done some work and made this place a joy to visit. It's great to see the traditional houses of the Sarawakians and some of the crafts and activities they undertake there. The village is set up around a small lake in a lovely setting with timber walkways leading you round to each "house". You get a village passport when you buy your ticket and you get stamps for each house you visit. The people in the houses are really friendly. Having a go at the blow dart pipe is good fun. The dance show is well worth seeing and the theatre for this is beautifully air conditioned - a relief after the heat outside. This place is well worth the 45minute shuttle bus to get there from Kuching and well worth the entry fee (about $20). Make sure you go with about 2 hours to spare before the 4pm show or after the 11am show, so you can take a leisurely stroll and look around properly. Very enjoyable.

The cultural village as seen in guides or ads might seem a bit too touristy but it turns out to be a very good idea to spend a half day there.
In a magnificent setting on Santubong peninsula (45 minute drive from Kuching), you can have a good glance at Sarawak's most important indigenous tribes.
Each has its own traditional house where they practice their handicrafts.
A really nice way to discover Sarawak's initial inhabitants, because this province is not only about landscapes and wildlife!

My advice is to go there in the morning (because of the heat in the afternoon) at opening time.
