The location of this hotel is quite nice as it is inside a covered canopy when you step outside of the hotel. There are lots of small food stall, eateries, convenient stores etc. Although the location is not the best as it is a bit of a walk towards the train station (but in Japan 5-10 mins of brisk walk is normal). I would probably prefer the swisshotel location but of course that hotel is more expensive and a better quality one. This is a 3 star hotel. Room is a bit small, we booked a superior twin room and was given a room on the 9th floor. It is ok but for a family of 2 adult with a kid it is a bit cramp. We don't know where to put our luggage. We did manage to fit everything for 11 nights though. The map of the hotel from its website is quite useful as we navigate the hotel from the train station upon arrival. Thanks also to lots of TA who gave valued instructions and pictures that helped us when we first arrived we did remember those picture and the search was less frustrating. It is relatively close to the Information Center on Namba on the Takashimaya building which is a great help as well. There is also a Travellex (money changer) near the Information Center so that is also a helpful place when we were running low on cash. We never really had lots of encounter with their hotel personnel just some simple request like additional blanket or how to close the window. But the staff are generally ok. They are not really that super nice as I have encountered in other hotels in Japan before (some staff from other hotels in Japan would bend backwards to help you like get as much info on train rides and even make reservations for you) but maybe its because this is just a 3 star hotel. A bit of a negative that we experienced with this hotel was that after a few days we felt that the room was a bit dusty and my wife and kid were having some morning allergies so we ask the hotel staff to maybe vacuum the room in more detail. The guy on the front desk just stare at me and said " Yes they do vacuum later" However, for the past week before we left the hotel we felt that our rooms were never really cleaned well. Most of the items were just left untouched. They just re-set the beddings, maybe vacuum only the exposed area, empty your trash, replace your cups, and maybe do some spot wiping only. The other thing that really is a bit of a negative with this hotel is that it sits on top of some pachincos so the elevator from the 1st floor to the lobby floor (3rd floor) smells a bit of smoke. The Lobby also does have that cigarette smoke. Also, having to use a card key to enter the elevator from the 3rd floor lobby to your floor room is a bit of a hassle especially when you have lots of stuff carrying on your hand.
They have complimentary 2 drinking water bottle everyday, 2 japanese green tea sachet but no free coffee. Coffee is Y200 per cup and you have to use a machine similar to nespresso type, but in fairness it is a good coffee.
They have in room mini ref with some drinks for a fee. TV reception is good quality but all in Japanese. They have a coin laundry on the 4th and 5th floor so that is also a good thing. Y200 per load/wash. Dryer is just above the washing machine and it is free.
