This is an out and out tourist hotel, not supportive of the business traveller. I think that I had about 16 hours sleep in total in the 5 nights I stayed there. The non-smoking floor is only applicable if the hotel is not full. Otherwise your chain-smoking neighbour will invade your room via the poor wall insulation. Given that it was full of German and Japanese tourists, that seems inevitable. Two complaints to the front desk yielded no relief.
The rooms are jaded and faded, albeit reasonably clean. Holes in the curtains may be endearing, but not completely welcome. Breakfast was okay, but I did not venture towards the dinner menu, which seems exclusively Turkish. I did not wish to take the risk, given I had meetings to attend during the day. Some less exotic items on the menu would have been welcome to the western business traveller. So, I lived on beer and crisps from a local market.
Then there is the noise from what appears to be a nightclub. Again obviously for the tourist trade. I seemed to be located right over it. Given that my reservation was made on my behalf by a major Turkish company, this seemed to be a particularly poor piece of customer relations by the hotel. Especially when I was being expected to work 12 hour days!
Finally the fiasco of what appeared to be the Turkish version of Rotary or the Order of Buffaloes on my last night there. Caused total chaos in the hotel and surroundings. I thought the local motorists were about to invade the hotel in protest.
I will be in the Hilton next time.
