This hotel have only one good point : it is very cheap.... But people are very unpolite, rooms are old fashion and ugly. Equipment inside the rooms are out of order (leakage in bathroom, air conditionning is not working). The pool is dirty and not functionnal, breakfast is very bad...... I stayed there 2 nights and i will never go there again even if they pay mefor this !

“Fine hotel in the middle of nowhere”

This is still the designated hotel with Pacha Tours. We only stayed here one night. The rooms were big. There were 3 of us and the room was divided into two rooms with two beds each. The bathrooms were big and had a tub but they were very worn out. The halls were dark and they were doing work there.

The pool area is bad. The pool is about 1.6 meters deep and there is no shallow end. It was about 5 degrees C and we only lasted about 10 minutes in there before going to the hot tub. Which was also about 1.6 meters with no shallow end. It was hot after the ice water of the pool but when that wore off the water was only room temp. You also have to walk a long, long, way up and down stairs and it is slick.

The meals were buffett. The main meals were nothing exciting but there was a lot of food with a lot of choices. The deserts were great and there were a ton of them. The water is around $3 for 1 liter and they have signs in the bathroom not to drink the water. So we didn't even brush out teeth with the stuff.

The AC worked good enough. But it was noisy.

This hotel is a couple of miles from the airport and a couple of miles from the nearest farming community. Once you are here you are here. But it was quite and the beds were only sort of rock hard so it was ok.

Best of luck.

Chris

“I won't be going back”

Surmeli Ankara

I won't be going back to this hotel again. The first thing I did when I arrived was to call my office and ask them what they were thinking when they sent me there. The hotel had confirmed my booking in advance, but when I arrvived they had no record of my reservation.

The staff (besides one senior waiter) were cold and unhelpful. The hotel felt deserted besides the odd turkish businessman. The shop in the lobby was almost never open. When I asked about the 'indoor pool', I was taken down to what felt like a dark underground carpark. The lights were switched on and some brooms etc that had ended up there for storage were removed. It looked like an underground carpark where a hole had been cut out and filled with water. I very much doubt anyone every dared to enter that 'pool'. I looked back at the pictures on the website trying to figure out how they had managed to present it as looking to nice.

The whole place was very seventies in design, which would have been fine if it had been well-maintained, but it wasn't. The rooms were ok in that the beds were clean. The bathrooms were seriously run-down and everything else was old and stained. The TV only seemed to have about 4 channels that worked - not the satellite TV I had read about.

There are two restaurants, but only one seemed to be open in the evening while I was there. There is no business centre/internet, thought there was an Internet cafe opposite the hotel when I was there. The only really nice thing was the live piano player every evening.

In sum, it's size may give the impression of a top hotel, but the rest feels like a run-down 3-star hotel.

We stayed here for one night in June 2005. We had taken the Turkish Delight tour with Pasha Tours and this was their designated hotel in Ankara. Pasha classifies this hotel as a 4-star property. However, I am unclear how they came up with this classification when you get to the rooms.

The hallways are dark - made it hard to locate our room at night. While the rooms are large, management appears to have removed half of the furniture. The air conditioning did not work properly - room was like a sauna. Moreover, the bathrooms are not well-maintained. The grout in the bathtub/showers are blackened with mold and the faucets drip.

Management appears to be resting on the hotel's glory days (whenever that was) and apparently hasn't done any remodeling or refurbishment in years.
