We were a little put off to start with as the coach driver couldn’t find the hotel, then realised he couldn’t get us to the entrance as there was building debris (there is a new hotel being built next door) and a van parked at the entrance to the street. He then abandoned us at the top of the street saying it was “our problem”. We then had to stumble over the mound of dirt and debris with our cases to get to the entrance, which was quite dangerous. The rep racheal is fab though, we told her about our problem getting to the hotel and within that day it had been sorted. If you do have a problem, please tell her about it as she will do what she can to get it sorted. She was frequently around the hotel, so easy to find and she was always friendly. She’s definitely the best rep we’ve ever had.
We asked for a room near reception as advised by another trip advisor review, this was a good tip as the music is played until 1 o’clock in the morning and is quieter in this area of the hotel. As I have said, there is a new hotel being built next door, however this isn’t a problem if you keep the door shut and air con on (which is free). The hotel food was really nice, a bit repetitive but I think it is the same with most all inclusive hotels and you do get what you pay for. Rooms were nice, a really good size. Gumbet itself is fantastic, really beautiful and the people are very friendly. We would like to go back in September but would go B n B as there are lots of restaurants which are lovely, especially annalivias and the windmill. The entertainment team were really friendly, however the actual entertainment was lacking. This didn’t bother us as it was cheap enough to go out of the hotel to town (which was only a short walk). We never did bar street as we heard it was very expensive but there are plenty of nice bars to go to.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday and it was definitely great value for money. I would stay at this hotel again or the miraluna, which is the sister hotel nearby, if it was a good deal.
