We have just got back from a week’s stay all inclusive at Mio Bianco and the fact I work for a 4/5* hotel chain I was totally disappointed in the service at this hotel. The hotel is a 3* hotel at very best decorated in modern decor but all done very cheaply with items looking like they are form IKEA for a newly built hotel they have not maintained the hotel well at all with 2* service. There was an overall sense of negativity from the staff and all the guests were unhappy and moaning...it became comical that everything on this all inclusive holiday was....Extra!The hotel is ideal for a remote location if you want to get away and relax in the sun; however I would never ever recommend this hotel to anyone at all. The service is absolutely appalling, not even 2*.None of the staff smile or even say hello they all keep their heads down as if they know they are serving awful food!
We arrived in the early hours of the morning and the reception area is lovely; we were given paperwork to complete, we were not welcomed and were not given any information on the breakfast timings etc or the all inclusive offerings. My partner’s bag was carried to the room by a grumpy porter; however was left to carry my own!
It was modern and cleaned to an okay standard, only one bin the room and one plug socket. The air con was great but a twin bed pushed together when you have booked a double room is not ideal at all!!!The towels were not on the towel rail, when I hung them up I realised why...the towel rail fell off the wall and towels with holes in and stained, also bear in mind none of the lights in the hallways were on throughout the whole week of our stay and even the toilets in the hotel were not topped up with toilet paper...a real sense of neglect to this hotel. It could be great but is far from it! No iron in the room, told we would have to pay for this...not really ‘all inclusive is it?’
The housekeeping and pool cleaners were all pleasant the rest including management were awful, so miserable and unaccommodating, I have never met such miserable people in hospitality whereby people choose to work in this industry to look after and ensure guests have a great time.
Food & Drink:
The food and drink was disgusting, much of it was not even recognisable and rather than having lots of choice as I was so excited about being on all inclusive it was a process of elimination, mainly eating salad as the food was so so awful, not enough cups, knives, forks, waiting staff cleaning the tables with their hands!!! The bread was the nicest thing I ate all week! The breakfast was appalling no choice and chaos and not enough cutlery. The drinks were served all day in small plastic cups as they didn’t have enough and no cocktails served so forced to have beer or vodka or gin that was the only choices...plus you had to pay after 11pm...Hardly all inclusive! The snacks in the day were the same every day, luke warm chips and burgers!!! I was appalled to see that one night one of the main courses was chicken nuggets!!! I had booked a 5* hotel not a fast food outlet.
A la Carte:
This is possibly one of the worst/ bizarre dining experiences of my life and believe me I have travelled the world to some remote places. The restaurant is lift access only we walked the stairs to find the top floor blocked off with breeze blocks! The restaurant is decorated nicely but has zero atmospheres with no one knowing what was going on a plate at the table when you get there no one explains that it is a set menu, you are not told what you are eating and it is most definitely not a la carte service!!! People left half way through as it was so awkward with a bowl of salad being brought to you as a meal with the fish later rather than all together...a shambles!!!
The Turkish night is good but that is all they do...one night the entertainment was cancelled and they never actually asked guests what they wanted. The snake charming is to be noted if you are as petrified of snakes as I am!! No planning of anything good at all.
The Beach area:
This is set beautifully as its own private beach with golf buggies taking you up and down the road to it...although only soft drinks are included here on the all inclusive and the cushions are filthy and the sofa’s cost you extra money each day!!! Plus if you want to go on the jet ski's its approx £25 for 10 minutes ride!
The spa was closed; however nobody told us this until we tried to book treatments and were told that all the things were there but they didn’t have any staff so we would have to ‘DIY’!!! I was so upset as this is why we booked this hotel so I could have massages and have a Turkish bath as so many people have raved about these!
This was mine and my partners first holiday away together and something we had really looked forward too, we both work really long hours and couldn’t wait for a week of relaxation in a hotel with a spa in the sun...this was not the case, my first holiday in Turkey was ruined. I will be also writing to the hotel and wonder if I get a response to my letter as the Manager didn’t even acknowledge me as he waltzed around his hotel ignorant to the fact his guests were so unhappy. Thankfully we met other couples who also shared our disappointment and it became laughable at what was going on...the ball games in the pool being the funniest part of the holiday...not funny at how much this holiday cost for a 2* hotel with 1960’s style entertainment and offerings. Please also note this hotel is NOT suitable for children at all...nothing there for them at all...the poor bored children we saw!!
The scariest thing was there wasn;t any information in the room about fire procedures and there wasn't a weekly fire test the whole week we were there!
This was topped off with our lasting moments waiting for our transfer to the airport to wait in the lobby and see a cockroach!!!!
Glad to leave!
