“Wonderful room, very comfortable”

I stayed during winter, so I can't really comment on the beach.. but the property and the room were immaculate! I was very comfortable in a 1 bedroom. It even had a large jacuzzi tub in the room as well! I did enjoy leaving the patio door cracked so I could listen to the ocean while I slept.

It seems like a wonderful place for a family vacation, and I look forward to coming back this summer for a golfing trip!

“Highly Disappointed”

Peppertree Resort

15 Apr 2008

We were highly disappointed for the amount of money we paid per night to stay at Peppertree. We took the stairs because the elevator was beyond small not to mention very dirty and filthy looking.

The front windows wouldn't stay up(without putting the utensils in to hold it as we saw our neighbors had done)

We complained immediately and was told maintenance was gone for the day(it was just after 5 yet you can't check into 4pm)but they would be there first thing in the morning. They told us to turn on the air(yet there was a sign on the air conditioner to help them cut costs and be energy efficient and energy conscious)

Well maintenance never came as assured. We turned the ceiling fan on high to circulate the air and possibly get the smell out it wobbled so badly we thought it was going to fall on us.

Our biggest disappointment was upon entrance, the place smelled awfully stuffy and musty. There was also a noticeable carpet stain time you stepped into the living room. Spraying perfume, deodorizrs etc did nothing for the smell so we slept with the sliding doors open in the bedrooms as well as the windows up just so we could breathe(WE told them one of those with us has heart disease, breathing issues and allergies and the heat in the room was overwhelming with the windows closed. That didn't matter at all!)

The commodes were filthy and there was no brush included nor provided to clean it.(only a plunger)

There was not enough pillowcases for the pullout sofa.(Thank goodness we didn't need it) After seeing all of that, we were afraid to sleep on the bed linen.

We followed the necessary steps to clean up prior to check out and called housekeeping as instructed to inspect prior to our leaving. We waited a long time(check out is at 10). They never came and we had a long drive ahead of us and meeting to attend. We saw them drop the linen outside of our door and thought they were coming in but didn't.

We finally called the front desk and were told we didn't have to wait.(it was almost 9am then). We're holding our breath regarding their inspection and wondering if they are going to say our deposit will not be refunded after all.(which we were told takes 30-45 days to get back??)

Yes, It's a great location(the beach wedding we attended was right around the corner and we could have walked to it) but Peppertree Resort obviously is not a place that is kept up by the maintenance nor does their staff seem to care about those who lodge there.

I can only rate it as Ok with the location being the prime reason why I didn't rate it as terrible.(the beach is in walking distance and the wedding we attended was right around the corner on the beach)

But I definitely don't recommend anyone staying in Unit#21C. Beware and stay elsewhere!

“Home away from home loved the ocean air ~ !”

My husband, 3 year old daughter and I, stayed here in March. We loved it. Still a little cool to swim in the ocean, but we loved walking along the seashore and finding shells. There was a nice indoor heated pool and fun activities planned for the kids each day, including an Easter egg hunt.. Our room was roomy =) I loved the full kitchen. (Large grocery store right across the street) We saved money by cooking most of our meals. .. We were towards the back of the property, right across from the beach. We had an awesome view of the ocean from the 3rd floor! We enjoyed visiting the NC Aquarium and Fort Macon. My husband enjoyed the near by golf course. All in all, a fun, relaxing vaca with my family. Would def. reccomend to family and friends!

This is a resort, not just your run of the mill hotel. Gated entry with security, beautiful beaches, multiple pools, and immaculate grounds. The area also has great fishing, attractions for the young, world class aquarium, and historic sites. The rooms were in excellent condition (I later found out they replace the furnishings every three years.) They have events planned each day for young and old alike - if you want to participate. Each suite had jacuzzi tubs in addition to the several hot tubs and outdoor jacuzzis. The kitchen was well furnished with new appliances and dinnerware.
