We stayed at Peppertree the week of July 22nd. We're owners of a resale unit in bldg 17 which was very convenient to everything and a short walk to the beach. The resort is lovely and well maintained. There are several play areas for kids and nice sitting areas with benches, swings and gazebos. Our unit appeared to have fairly new furniture and drapes and was recently painted. The beach is very wide and the ocean had calm surf the week we were there. We loved the area. Restaurants were plentiful as were various things to do. We plan to use our unit in future years.

Stayed in 2A2. It was quiet and newly & nicely decorated. Did not care for the ants on the kitchen table and in the Master Bath, or the 2 cockroaches that ran across the living room, but it was taken care of.

The pool was very nice and clean! You can rent umbrellas & chairs for $10 a day....beware they only have 12 umbrellas for the entire complex so rent early!

BBQ grills were available, BYO charcoal!

My teens were a bit bored, it's not Myrtle Beach or Disney! They did like Blackbread's Ghostwalk and Shackelford Banks (Beaufort. I enjoyed being able to relax and read a book.

I would go back again

We just returned from a week long stay here. Loved it! We had one of the older buildings (the round ones) It had just been remodeled. New beds, linens, furniture, carpet.. you name it! The only complaint I have is the master bathroom. The tub was nice but it only had a handheld shower. No big deal for us, we just bathed the kids in it and we used the other shower. Pools were cleaned every morning and water added! We did have to go down stairs to use the washer and dryer. We could lock the door so only people who had a key could enter. It was $2.50 to wash and dry a load of laundry. They had small play grounds for the kids. Can check out board games for free. We stayed in unit 2A2 and will go back next year! If I can answer any ?'s please feel free to email me at mommmy2rosebud@ aol. I noticed there wasn't much info about the villas here;)

I was very leary about going to Peppertree as I knew how old the resort is. I used to go to Atlantic Beach about 25-30 years ago and saw Peppertree when it was new. Anyway, after reading some of the bad reviews, I feared the worse. Upon checking in, I continued to worry when my husband returned with good and bad news. The bad news was the unit we were placed in was not a renovated unit. The good news, we were right beside the indoor pool (we have 5 yr old twin boys who LOVE to swim). When we entered our unit, I was pleasantly surprised! Even though this wasn't a renovated unit (30D), it was clean and well kept. The entire property is well kept for its age. During our stay they put down new mulch and painted the boardwalk to the beach. It looks like the owners' maintenance fees are being used wisely.

Our unit was in a cluster that is the farthest from the beach. We actually loaded up our car and drove across the property to get to the beach (only to avoid whining from our boys). Our check-in/check-out day was Sunday. We were told the newly renovated and closer to the beach buildings are Saturday to Saturday. In case you've made a reservation and know your building number, here are the buildings that sit right across from the beach: 23 and 25 face the ocean, 20-22 and 24 are the other buildings that are close. Other than those, plan for a small walk (or drive). The buildings farthest away are: 26-33.

We stayed at the resort from May 20-27, 2007. The beginning of the week was very quite, barely anyone on the beach, no one in the pool. However, as the weekend approached, the resort started to fill up for the holiday weekend. However, it never felt packed and overwelming, even on the beach. The indoor heated pool was great, as the outdoor pools were still too cool for my boys to happily swim.

I recommend this resort. I would really like to see the newly renovated units if ours was not renovated. I'm sure they are very nice. Oh, and, they did an excellent job on their addition of the elevators. Makes lugging all your belonging to your room much easier. The resort seems to be doing a great job.

We would return. If you go, enjoy!
