For starters, this hotel is very reasonably priced. When I saw the price, I was expecting a grungy, dirty, old hotel. Instead I was met with a simple yet cute hotel and an extremely well-kept room with many small touches of home like the decorations in the bathroom and the chairs outdoors.

I highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for a clean and simple, yet inexpensive, room for the night.

Absolutely do NOT stay here. I made reservations about 10 days out from our vacation. Less than 24 hours later I had to cancel them. The owner said that we could not cancel since it was within 2 weeks of the reservations. I could understand if I called 1 or 2 days before our reservations to cancel, but I was calling 9 or 10 days before and less than 24 hours after the reservations were made.

The owner said at the very least he would charge us for 1 nights stay. Or course he chose to charge us the weekend rate.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!

My best friend and I recently had guest (her brother and his girlfriend ) in from Spartanburg SC. They rarely get the opportunity to visit the beach. We contacted the Sanddollar and could not have been more pleased. It is a small ,quaint, immaculately kept motel. I have been going to Atlantic Beach for as long as I can remember and have stayed in probably 90% of the motels, condos, & resorts but I have finally found some place that feels like home. I"ll never spend my money anywhere else. We were treated like we were family. Kudos to the owner she made our mini vacation wonderful. Can"t wait to get back to the sand, the salt and the Sanddollar.

The rates were not what I was quoted. The picture on the internet is not what you are getting! I don't know what room they showed, but no room I saw looked like that. They tell you they don't do room service everyday, what they meant was they do room service after you leave. They were the cheapest place to stay, until you tell them you will have an extra person, then the price is just as much as everybody else. These rooms are for people working construction that have to stay there all week. And one more thing, the commode drove me crazy. It ran all the time and apparently it was supposed to. I can't see myself staying here again.
