I just returned from a 3 day stay at the Clam Digger. I read all of the reviews before I went and knew it was an older property, but believe it to be clean. Well needless to say I will not be staying there again.
The front desk staff was not overly friendly at check in, but it was busy so I did not think anything of it
My room however was a different story. It was dirty from the get go. The shower curtain had at least 4 inches of mildew on it The "clean " towels were stained. The bed lines were well worn and just nasty. The bed was so hard and the pillows were so thin that I had use all 4 of them as one.
I tried to access the "free in room internet". It did not work. I called the front desk. They told me to come to the lobby or go to the lounge becuase that was were the best signal was.
Another guest on my floor ordered room service and then set the dishes outside the room. The dishes sat there for 24hours while the bugs had a feast on the left overs.
The maids did not vacauum my room until the 2nd night even though there was visable sand on the floor.. There was dirt and cobwebs along the baseboards that were easily seen and they were still there when I left.
The resturant was okay. Over priced for medicore food.
I did not use the pool because it looked really dirty.
The hotel needs a lot of attention. The price was good. Too good to be true.
I should have spent the extra money and upgraded my hotel..
