Even though a 2 star, we took a chance because this hotel is "new". On the outside, it appears to be very nice. We arrived to a lobby where "The Walking Dead" was blastin' on the tv (that was turned to the check-in desk). I'm glad that we didn't have "little ones", they would have been scared to death. The receptionist was not in the least welcoming or personable (after all, we had interrupted her watching tv). In the room, the decor was very contemporary and the space was efficient with a little bar w/ 2 counterheight chairs and a window seat. We were pleased until we found that: the microwave was dirty; the refrigerator was not cold and we couldn't turn it up because the knob was gone (the desk attendant offered a screwdriver as a solution); and everything was dusty. There were not enough towels for the suite for two people (let alone 4) so we dialed room service which went straight to the front desk. We were informed that there was not a housekeeping staff at night, the front desk attendant was it. My husband had to go downstairs to get some and came up with a pile of (somewhat abrasive) towels and washcloths that we folded ourselves. Upon getting ready for bed, we pulled back the cover where the "thin" sheet revealed 2 spots on the mattress pad which "appeared" to be blood. We called downstairs to report this. My husband trudged downstairs AGAIN to get another mattress pad. We tried to put it on the bed but it didn't fit. We went through 2 more pads (which meant 2 more trips downstairs). The best one had little holes in it.
On the upside: The mattress wasn't the worse that we had ever slept on, there was free wi-fi, and there were fresh baked Spunkmeyer cookies in the lobby in the morning.
We wouldn't stay here again. I think we'll stick to 3 star and up from now on.

I am amzed by your description of your recent stay at our hotel, and I would like to apologize for the lack of service.
Our usual comments are more in the order of excellent housekeeping, and great customer service by the front desk
I wish the comments were a little more specific, so that I could figure out who needs to be reminded of our number 1 goal, customer satisfaction, and repeat guests.
I believe we will use your feedback to have a meeting with all of the housekeeping and front desk staff, and reaffirm our committment to excellence.
Again, I apologize for the difficulting you experienced, and thank you for making me aware.
Should you be in the Anderson area again, I hope you will afford us the opportunity of serving you again, and reversing your current opinion of our hotel and staff.
