Sadly I only spent one night at this establishment, but the staff as always in Aberdeen are so helpful and let me have the room shortly before 4 and even let me keep it until after 12 the next day.
Parking is limited so get there early if you can, but there is a reasonable Multi Storey 100 yards away.
The location of this hotel is perfect for most things, beautiful historic buildings, museums, libraries, churches and great shopping are all within a few minutes walk.
Situated 100 yards from Union street, the hotel is amazingly quiet and only the rattling of the kegs and bins at a sensible 8.30AM broke my slumber and got me up in time for the standard Holiday Inn express breakfast.
The train station is a 10 - 15 minute walk away (4 streets) and it's better to get a taxi from the hotel to the airport than it is to get a train to Dyce, which is at the end of the runway, but still £7 from the terminal by road.
Dining in the area of the hotel is not a problem with lost and lots of opportunities to eat at sensible prices and even the local kebab house does a great value curry which the hotel were happy to supply a plate and a fork for, even told me I could sit in the restaurant if I wanted.
The room is a standard HI Express room with no aircon, but this is the north of Scotland where aircon is usually achieved by opening a window and sampling the clean fresh air of this beautiful city.
I would recommend this hotel for anyone on a budget, the room was pricey at £85, but would sleep 4 adults or 2 adults and possibly 4 little ones on the huge sofa bed.
