“Wouldn't stay here if it was free”

Absolutely disgusting. Roaches EVERYWHERE. Sacks of trash left from housekeeping all day and overnight. Front desk was rude, smirked when told about the roach problem and lied to us repeatedly. The only redeeming quality was the showerhead. Other than that, it was the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. It smelled as well. A cross between mold and cleaner and a musty smell. It was gross. I could still smell that smell in my clothes when we unpacked at home.

It's not the problems that makes a hotel what it is...it's how they handle the problems that arise.

I am close to cutting up our Priority Club Card because it's trash. I know of several very nice Holiday Inns. But I will totally be gun-shy from now on. This hotel shouldn't be allowed to carry the HOliday Inn name.

“Think twice about staying here.”

My family and I stayed at this hotel for two nights (Thurs. and Fri.) If I could of changed hotels I would of. First the good.....we arrived too early to check in according to their check in time. They had a room available and let me have it early. The staff was very friendly and helpful. When we needed something they found it or brought it to us. The staff would of made this hotel above average. The pool was very nice and clean. The trolley was very handy and we used it four times. (Don't forget to tip the driver.) The bad........as soon as I walked into the hallway where our room was I almost gagged. The smell was terrible. I think it is some kind of cleaning solution or something. It was bad and stayed with me the whole trip. I keep smelling that same smell. I couldn't get it out of my nose. It wasn't something common either like clorox. Our room had the same odor. I opened the window and left hoping it would air out some. It did a little, not much. The room was outdated and rough looking. The floors were dirty looking, the bedding was tattered (holes in the sheets.) They used regular sheets instead of fitted sheets so the sheets kept coming off the very old mattress. There was nothing covering the box springs either. The mattress was like one found on a bunk bed. Very uncomfortable. Under the bedspread on the floor was food left for no telling how long that the cleaners had missed. ick! I noticed this when I was looking for anything that might of fallen when we were packing up. Thank goodness I didn't see this earlier or I would of had a fit. I would of worried about roaches. A spider climbed out of a pillowcase and scared my 10 year old to death. (She didn't sleep well after that.) The carpet on the floor was bad and worn in a few spots. The tub was dirty or stained and I didn't allow my kids to take a bath. They had to take showers. The air conditioning unit was very noisy and kept us awake. The breakfast was suppose to be included in my room price of $89. I asked about this twice over the phone and they confirmed it. They said they quoted me the wrong price so I had to pay to eat. It cost $14 for two adults. The kids ate free. The food tasted like frozen food that was heated up in a microwave. Nasty stuff. I didn't eat it. We went to a restaurant the next morning. The lounge was closed down too and I was told they lost their liquor license. I was not happy with this place. This was not a three star hotel. It was more like a 1 star. They need to renovate this place bad and get rid of whatever is making that odor. I am not picky. I have stayed at all types of hotels. This however was the worse. I have been at one stars that were kept cleaner and had better bedding than this. What a shame. It ruined my one and only trip this year.

“Good time”

Admiral Hotel

22 Jul 2005

Good stay. Front desk personnel were very nice. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. Even though it was full didn't hear noise from other rooms or rooms on top of us. The kids had a great time at the swimming pool. We like the ammenities very much. Specially the trolley, you save in parking and don't have to drive around especially when the traffice gets bad. We paid extra for breakfast and it was worth it, kids eat free. We had dinner one night it was OK but not great. Internet access had a problem but it was taken care immediately. Just need a little of cosmetic work and new matresses, they were comfortable but the goods days have come and gone with them. Overall the experience was good and every employee were nice. The trolley takes you to Six Flags and the baseball park. Stayed 7/19-7/21.

“Great for families and for price”

Admiral Hotel

We had a room outside the pool on the first floor and it couldn't have been nicer. We stayed for 3 nights memorial day weekend and The room was clean, asked for more pillows and blankets, brought them right away. All staff we encountered was very polite and helpful. the only complaint I had was that at the restaurant, while waiting for our dessert, which took 25 minutes with only 2 tables to get 2 pieces of cheesecake, which was over-priced, was another table was brought boston creme pie with mold on all 3 pieces and the waitress didn't even notice, the father caught it before his children started eating. I highly recommend the hotel, not the restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and ate all meals somewhere else. Shuttles service excellent.

We stayed here on April 16, 2005 for one night. My two small children loved the indoor pool and we had free breakfast with our room. The breakfast buffet was very nice and much better than the standard free breakfasts offered by many hotels. The room was in pretty good shape; it was clean but a little bit shabby. The elevators were very slow and we ended up taking the stairs most of the time. Check-in was also very slow. There was only one clerk on duty and about 20 people in line. The manager on duty nor the general manager were nowhere to be found but the clerk who was working was very courteous and doing the best he could. The trolley was wonderful and it was great to be able to go staight to the baseball game without the hassle of taking our own vehicle and paying for parking at the ballpark. The trolley was prompt and a big hit with our kids. Overall, I would stay here again as there were many more pros than cons.
