Afton Mountain Bed and Breakfast was wonderful. My boyfriend and I enjoyed a relaxing weekend away from the hustle and bustle of NOVA. Dan and Orquida were very accomodating and the food was delicious!

“Looking Glass Room was quite nice!”

We stayed 2 nights in the Looking Glass Room. The owners, Dan and Orquida were wonderful hosts -- full of information and advice on where to go, eat, etc. The breakfasts were flavorful and filling. Their dog, Bailey, was friendly, although he is restricted to their living quarters. Our room was tastefully decorated and comfortable. There was hot water, tea and cocoa available at any hour, and freshly baked cookies in the afternoon and evening. The common areas were both comfortable and inviting.

Dan and Orquida made us feel right at home after our wedding. The Mornington room was superb (as was the rest of the home) and the pumkpin pancakes were just right for an autumn Sunday breakfast. The Afton Mountain B & B is an excellent choice!

We had a very good time at the bed and breakfast. It is the place to stay if you want to visit vineyards. We attended a wedding and everyone else had to take a bus back to Charlottesville, but we were 5 minutes away. They were very accommodating. The rooms were very nice and clean. Only slight downside restaurants - start looking for early, far and few.

Afton Mountain was a lovely get-away from hectic D.C. We enjoyed our stay in the Goodwin Room and the house and grounds are absolutely charming,

By far, the best B&B we have stayed in yet! If you have the time, tour some of the area wineries, visit Charlottesville, Monticello, etc. The area has a lot to offer and after a long day of sight seeing, nothing is better than Orquida's homemade cookies, rocking on the front porch or enjoying the view!
