We liked the hospitality of the owners and of course Bailey (the dog)added a sense of belonging.
We stayed at the Goodwin (king bed) which is a lovely room with a very comfortable bed, but we had no closet (a rack for hanging clothes is provided, which does not add to the charm of the room )
or a chest of drawer to put our staff.
Since we stayed for 5 nights , we really would have liked to unpack and store our luggage for the duration of our stay, but instead we lived out of our suitcases which also took a bit of room in an already small room.
Breakfasts were very tasty and wholesome.Hooray to Orquida and Dan

We were very happy with our stay at Afton Mountain and loved seeing Bailey, the house dog! It was convenient to Monticello and Charlottsville and had some ineteresting restaurants nearby, even on a Monday!
We'd definitely recommend this B & B!

“Great Romantic Getaway”

Afton Mountain Bed & Breakfast

What a truly lovely and relaxing Bed & Breakfast. The hosts were most friendly and eager to share the history of the house with us. Every little detail was taken care of to make our stay most pleasant. The Looking Glass Room was great as it was closest to the coffee and tea cart complete with freshly baked cookies! The location is ideal for touring the beautiful countryside and sampling the great Virginia wines. A real treasure.

We received a friendly welcome from our hostess who made sure we were familiar with the the layout of the B&B. Shown to our room and made aware of the amenities. Our room (The Goodwin Room) was lovely and very comfortable. We were intrigued by what appeared to be an upper back porch which one of the room's windows looked out on. If the weather had been warmer and drier, we would have loved to sit out there. The B & B is out in the country, very quiet, but convenient to Charlottesville and Monticello. The owners provide a great selection of teas and hot drinks with homemade cookies in the upstairs hallway. Unlimited cups of tea! It was a chilly weekend. The breakfasts were delicious and imaginative. The B&B has a swimming pool. There are several area restaurants, and the owners will make reservations for you. B & B located near several wineries offering tours. Owners couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We would definitely go back, if the occasion arises. There is a resident dog, but she was quiet and sweet and non-intrusive and seemed to understand that while we liked her, we are cat people!
