This is one of our favorite places to eat - easy, laid back, but really great food and good selection. Their sandwiches are wonderful - good bread, meats, etc. Woodfired pizza is better than anywhere else around here. We had some sort of cinnamon bread pudding with homemade ice cream the other day, and even that was good!

I think they are better for lunch or dinner than they are for brunch - wasn't crazy about our breakfast food the last time we were there, but we have high expectations for a Sunday brunch, too!

I have been to Fireflies in Alexandria on more than several occasions and have had a great time. The food is always so fresh and seasonal. The pizza is great, thin and chewy crust and quite possibly the best sauce I have ever had. The steaks are cut nice and thick and marinated very nicely. If you like wine but not the HUGE mark up this is the place to be, they have a good selection of about 40 bottles under $30! Also check out great Happy Hour specials. The service has improved quite a bit since the first two or three times I was there (a little slow) now it seems that there has been an effort made to correct this (much quicker and freindly but not overbearing). Overall this is a great place to eat and the $value$ is outstanding.
