The other reviews have said it all. I stayed twice here in between going to one of the jungle lodges and was there over Christmas. I could have been really homesick but because Niace and Clive were so welcoming I enjoyed my Christmas in the tropics. They even took me out on their boat to one of the Amazon "beaches" to have Sunday lunch. If I ever return to Manaus this is where I will stay.

We spent several days with Clive and Naice. What fabulous hosts and what a comfortable, tranquil place! As far as amenities go, they offered very comfortable beds, breakfasts fit for a king, personal chauffeur service to several interesting places, and were a great source of information on local restaurants and such. Oh, and I should also mention that Clive has some home brewed liquors that are quite nice to sample as well :D

The hosts (Clive and Nice) run an un-typical guesthouse: Just 2 rooms - but it comes with features you would not expect from a guesthouse: swimming pool, TV in your room, a bathroom which is nicer than most ones in European/US-hotels. Outside areas where you can sleep during the day (if you are lazy) and enjoy the sound of the rainforest. When you wake up in the moring and look outside the window: the rainforest starts 10metres away. Amazing. Breakfast - great.
The guesthouse is outside of Manaus - I didnt mind as I went to Manaus for nature and relaxing. They have a bike you can borrow for a short ride. Also, Nice drove me around Manaus, also dropped me off/picked me up at the bus station (as I wanted to tour around myself), the 3 of us went on a boattour (they own the boat). Both of them love Manaus and it seems their goal is to show you how wonderful this world is.

I could not imagine anything better - if you wanna see Manaus, are into nature but also dont mind a swimming pool and TV :), thats the place you wanna go.

Well i can only agree with the other reviews on here,Great company,can't do enough for you,lovely quiet place to relax,nice room with a view over the jungle,Neil has a great little boat(The Shamrock)which he was nice enough too take me out in on my final morning!at night it was great just to sit in the 'chapeu' and listen to the jungle sounds,or sit & chat over a beer with Neil!all in all a great experience,will defo go back to Maguire's if in Manaus again!
