L'Hotel provides a warm, friendly experience and is located in a convenient area of Sao Paolo. It's a high-end, cozy place to stay.
Most of the staff are exceptional...as you would expect in this price range. The restaurant provides a park-like setting (though best for breakfast or lunch...it's high quality food, but there is so much else to experience nearby for dinner).
The rooms are very clean (though just a little spartan--nothing to worry about). It is also a very clean hotel, overall.
All things considered, one of the best hotel experiences on three continents.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love it here. In fact, I'm here 2 more nights and I hate to go. I was booked at Intercontinental Rio (who screwed up my review). I'm here for a very serious business project, and need great relax and comfort.
So I booked L'Hotel due to proximity to my work. I arrive and receive an excellent driver from the airport ($80, but outstanding), was booked into my room at 10:30 am (unheard of in so many places), and spent the rest of the morning in sauna/ofuro hot tubs, and small atrium pool on the roof (all free). The staff is so friendly, speak great english and spanish, and are so happy to help you with anything you need, it's unbelievable. Security presence out front is incredible. A top shelf taxi is always awaiting out front (not much more expensive than the perilous street taxis i've hailed, but that's another story). There is champagne service at the front desk all evening long into the 10pm hour (i'm talking incredible champagne). I am friends for life with the front desk.
So I'm 28, a doctor, and have travelled the world every which way and stayed at a lot of places. Sao Paulo is a city that requires a lot of caution and patience. it will imbrace you if you imbrace it, but having a peaceful (This place is only 14 floors, about 15 rooms per floor, constantly quiet, very respectful guests) place to go home to after your work or play, will make your time here so much better.
I am enroute to Rio, and will probably review there. This site is so useful, if you read here, you've got to post on where you go! It protects us as consumers.
Stay at this hotel. Enjoy great service, fine food, a beautiful clean room (they replenish towels and the mini bar with turn down service, straighten your things, oh my god i love it).
Second only to Hilton Beijing for my favorite places ever.
Stay here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worth the price 10x over.

I stayed for a weekend with my wife. Great location, close to the business and financial area, lots of restaurants and shoppings.
Staff is the biggest asset of this hotel. Friendly, attentive, able to solve any question or problem you have. Bathroom is small but clean, beautifull, with quality toiletries.
Good wideband internet, excellent breakfast.
If you go to restaurants try Figueira Rubayat, the most beautifull restaurant I saw in my life with a tree that covers all this excellent steak house. If you want Brazilian food, go to Capim Santo, an inexpensive restaurant . Don't go to DOM, highly recommended, expensive, but just a product of marketing.
Going to Sao Paulo for business or tourism, I'd stay again in this hotel.

Stayed 5 nights in Mar 2007. It is in the Jardim Paulista area - 1 block off Ave Paulista for the business and financial area. Also a very nice area for shopping and walking around. Both my colleague from Germany and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
Room: see pics. Nice - well kept. King size bed, bathrobes, slippers, good selection of tolietries. Nice size closet.
Staff: Very attentive and helpful. Any query I had was dealt with immediately.
Bathroom: Small but nice. All marble, including bathtub. Good selection of tolietries, hairdryer.
Gym: 3 treadmills, 1 bicycle, multifunction machine, bench/incline press, dumbells.
Pool: Nice but too small for laps. Retractable roof so you can float and stare at the sky
Sauna: 2 small hot tubs plus sauna (co-ed)
Internet: Wi-Fi in pubic areas and / or by cable in the room. In room can pay by the hour or 30 real ($15) per day.
Laundry - like most hotels they send it out. No iron in the room as is common in S America - they have a ironing service.
Security: small in room safe where you program your own 4 digit code. Doorman always on duty. One of the best areas of the city. Feel very safe here.
Extras: They can schedule a maseusse to come to your room. Nail, haircare just 1 block away. Durgstore nearby.
To Do: Museum just a few blocks away on Ave Paulista showing Degas. At the museum grounds on Sunday they have a fair with stalls selling mostly antique sytle goods. Across the street is another fair that sells mostly local handmade goods.
Restaurants: Nice Italian restaurant in the hotel and several other good ones in the immediate neighborhood.
recommend: La Caballeriza - 1.5 blks past Ave Paulista - Argentinian food. Rascals - good pizza, pasta, salad bar - take left on Ave Paulista, next right and at end of block.
Grocery Store - full grocery store - take right on Ave Paulista then 1st left, go 1.5 blocks down on the right side.
Vegetarian: Sao Paulo and Brazil in general are very meat oriented. Not much vegetarian around and vegan is harder still. Most restaurants have great salad bars though, including grilled veggies and more.
