We stayed at the Flora on our 2nd holiday to Borovets and we were disappointed. In 2007 we went allocation on arrival and stayed at the Bor hotel which is a little out of the resort but a short horse and cart ride quickly gets you in. So this year we decided to book the Flora as it has excellent position in resort (short walk from gondola and lower slopes). The hotel isn't in bad shape rooms were clean just a little dated but it got far too hot at night even though radiator in room was turned off. They took one of the curtains down on the 2nd day due to a broken rail and when I enquired when it would be fixed I got a very hostile receptionist who just didn't want to help, eventually 3 nights later and 2 more complaints I got the curtain back up.
The other problem was food. Breakfast is fine the usual cereal, toast, hot eggs/sausage/bacon etc. But the evening meal was very poor, if you don't do chips you may go hungry! And any time after 7.30 the food was often cold and very little left. In the end we ate out after the first couple of nights.
Overall Borovets is a fab ski resort but I wouldn't reccomend the Flora. Book your lift passes in advance (it saved us £17 pp), take the 2 pin adaptors, and try the local restaurantes Mamacities (mexican) was very good along with The Red Lion.
You can get some good deals on ski boots here also and staff in shops were very helpful.

We satyed there with a group of ppl in a seminar.
1. Every time I ( or sb in our group ) bought sth. from hotel supermarket store, the cashier added items to the bill, never gave back change, when I asked a reciept, she got so mad and the it turned out she added 3 LVs to the bill, previous day she added 5 lv-s to the bill and so on with everybody. Restaurant manager same thing, dont want to give the reciept to show you how much sth was, just asked a large bill and becomes agressive....yellls...very agressive. and as it turned out he had added things we didnt order as well to the bills. On the whole, nice rooms, OK food, could be better in 4 star hotel.... and staff are theieves......aweful staff , never seen anything like that.

2 years in arrow in this hotel and the same bad experience when it comes to a large bill at the restaurant... The manager becomes agressive when it comes to collect the money in cash only!!!! even if the hotel takes credit card...
Trying to understand the charge mentioned on the bill written in Bulgarian, the manager don t even try to understand the customer and finish by yelling... No a really good way to behave...
When it comes to a problem, the staff pretend not to speak english but they all do!!! Come on, we are in a 3 star hotel!!!
Apart from the restaurant, rooms are great... and really close to the slopes...

I have just returned from a week of skiing in Borovets and had a fantastic time. I had read the many reviews on tripadvisor and was not expecting the holiday to be great!! I found the hotel accommodation to be comfortable, but if i had one criticism about the hotel it would be the food!! BUT, the food in the resort is very good and frankly if you want to eat at your hotel every night then head to an all inclusive resort in the Caribbean! We went to a number of restaurants (Katy's, Blue and a pizza restaurant next to the Harp bar) and would recommend them.

The skiing in Borovets was very good, although it had not snowed for a couple of weeks. I am a beginner and found the slopes to be great. A group of us took ski lessons with Angel from Borosports and found them to be good. I've heard that there are better ski schools in France or Austria, but i found them to be great. If you have booked to go to Borovets you'll have a great holiday.
