Its centrally located, close to the bus station, the night markets, many restaurants. The room was small but clean and functional.
It has a large bathroom which doesn’t have a bath tub, only a simple curtain, so be aware that its one of those rooms where the shower wets the whole bathroom floor.
We paid 258 RMB/night for a double-bed room booked via C-Trip and that included breakfast for two people. The breakfast was not so convenient as it was at the restaurant down the street and started only after 7am. The breakfast is very Chinese, nothing western, not even a cup of coffee (actually you will be looking long and hard to find anything remotely like a cup of Coffee anywhere in Dunhuang).
The location is good for going to the Night Market which is a hive of activity in Summer - including some great outdoor BBQs. Its also convenient for catching a bus to Mogao Caves, or even Jiayuguan or further afield from the bus station which is only 500m away.
When booking a hotel in Dunhuang, there are so many hotels nowadays, however one needs to be careful with the names, since every hotel is called "Dunhuang ....", this one is FanDian which can be easily mistaken with BinGuan as both probably have the same name in English!
