We stayed in the Hedera Hotel in Rabac. This hotel is not 5* but very comfortable as long as you book the front rooms. Back rooms face out to a road and cliffs, no view, and can be noisy. It cost extra to book a front view but well worth it. Meals are very good if you have fresh stuff off the buffet, cooked are not so good. Breakfast eggs come in 5 min or 3 min containers !!!! all are very hard boiled !!!! Staff are good especially if you smile....very clean..
Gardens and pools in front and then on to a very pebbly beach, also very clean. the walk to town is lovely, no hassle from the various stalls and good boat trips from the harbour. The fish BBQ boat trip is fantastic. with an hr at Kres, (a lovely island,) fish lunch with loads of wine then a stop at an unknown beach for a swim, before heading back..
Trips to Rovinj and Pula are recomended, also a hydrofoil trip to Venice is a must if you've never been.
