Do not visit Delhi without spending a day with Dhruv. If you leave without experiencing Chandni Chowk on the heels of Dhruv, I can condidently say that you have not truly experienced Delhi. I am an incredibly difficult traveller to please (just ask my husband) and Dhruv exceeded any ideas and expectations I had for our day together by leaps and bounds . Immediately after meeting him, we felt at ease - crossing through busy streets on his lead, eating at all of the safe and delicious places and venturing into shops that suited our specific interests. He lead us to hidden alleys, educated us on culture, kept us hydrated and looked after each and every need and request we brought to him. Dhruv will be your tour guide, but most importantly, your friend and protector in the busy market.
The day ended with a fabulous meal with Dhruv and his wife, Richa, in their beautiful home. My favorite moment of the day was flying a kite at sunset from the incredible rooftop of their home. Looking across the crowded skyline, there were children of all ages socializing from rooftop to rooftop and through their kites in the sky. This is just one example a "pinch me" moment that we experienced during the day. There were many more seemingly unbelievable experiences, but I do not want to spoil the surprises for your own day with Dhruv!
We took the full day tour in the market, but if I had known before planning my trip, I would have arranged additional tours to Agra and beyond with Dhruv. Do not hesitate to book a tour with Dhruv, and if you find that he is full on the day of your choice, shift your entire itineary to accomodate, you will not regret it.
