The hotel is pretty run down, compared to Alsisar Haveli which is right on the opposite side and done well- we stayed there a night, as well. The breakfast buffet in Mandawa is pathetic and the rooms are very very basic. Its ok if you hardly plan to be in the hotel..you wouln't even want to look at the pool..its filled with pigeon [-----]!! The location of the hotel is bad!

A quiet oasis set well back from a busy road. A well appointed room with separate bedroom that was clean and well decorated. The restaurant (used for dinner and breakfast) was well run with friendly helpfull staff serving good food. Breakfast was quite extensive and provided an Indian option. Not ideally situated for visiting main tourist attractions or for evening strolls as it is set outside the main hub of Jaipur.

This hotel is set in a lovely heritage house with a peaceful garden, hidden from the main road. Our room had been recently refurbished and redecorated with taste and lots of character. There was a raised area with desk and armchairs, overlooking the rest of the room through Indian style arches. The bathroom was spacious, modern and decorated to high standards. It had both bath tub and shower (no raised plate or curtain, as it's typical in India). We didn't have time to have breakfast, but the breakfast room looked elegant and airy.
In Jaipur, you can also check Alsisar Haveli, which is just across the road.

Requisite marble and hunting photos of Maharaja fan club with British “advisors”. Great oatmeal, potato pancackes, and masala chai at breakfast. Period furnishings, good large bed, small weird shaped pool, quiet (set back from busy street in a “you’d never find it unless you were looking” location). Hard sell puppet show a few nights a week. Great service “it is my duty!”; front desk person stamped 20 of my postcards – got out the paste and dropped everything to do it.
