Easy to get to off I-65 and Montgomery Hwy. Right next door to Jim N Nick's BBQ - excellent. Always stay here when I go to Montgomery via Birmingham. Rooms are average Courtyard - not above average. Beds are ok but the comforter is not big anf fluffy. Onsite spa and workout room is nice. Food istandard Courtyard. Coffee is a Maxwell House machine and is pretty good. Rate was around $159 or so. Rooms by the elevator are not sound-=proof so be advised.

This well-located Courtyard is what you would expect from a Courtyard. It was clean, well furnished, and stamped out of the same mold as half the Courtyards in the chain. The staff was actually very helpful in giving recommendations and meeting a small room request.

But...

Make sure you are not on the first floor of this hotel. The "first floor" is actually a level below the lobby. Yep. It's a basement. Avoid it if you can!

I stayed at this hotel the end of May 2005. It was under a much needed renovation. I got a room that was renovated and it was just fine. This hotel uses fitted sheets. That is RARE these days. But, for some reason, they don't vacuum the floor every day. I don't understand why. My floor was a mess. Also, I was on the NON-smoking floor but the rude person next to me was smoking in his NON-Smoking room. I could smell it through the wall. When will these hotels get smart and start charging the smokers extra for smoking in a non-smoking room? The service in the restaurant was HORRIBLE! Lazy workers and they don't care if you think they are lazy. DON'T eat there.
