We stayed at this hotel because we needed to sleep 4 adults for one night and wanted the extra room. We were placed in a handicapped room on the 1st floor. Although both the room was large and the beds were large and comfortable, the first thing I noticed were a bunch of dead small bugs in the kitchen area and a couple in the bathroom. Since we had lived in Montgomery before, I was fully aware that bugs were a common problem in even the nicest homes, I wasn't super alarmed. However, it did make me uncomfortable beacuse it gave me the indication the room may not have been cleaned in a while. I asked that we be switched to another room. The hotel clerk was very friendly and apologetic. He said the handicapped rooms weren't used very often which was probably what caused the bugs to be in the floor. He gave us the key to another room, but when I viewed the room (not a handicapped room) it was MUCH smaller on all accords (room, bed, TV, kitchen area, bathroom). We got someone to clean the bugs up and decided to stay in the 1st room.
As the night progressed, it got considerably worse. Let me just say one word...ROACHES. Again, I had lived in Montgomery before and realize that even my co-workers in even the cleanest homes would complain on see a roach on occassion, I don't expect to see several during a single nights stay in my hotel room. Had I not lived in Montgomery in the past and known of some bug problems, I would have rated this hotel terrible, but I'm trying to be fair. Though it gave us a roomy place to sleep, I will definitely not stay there in the future as I have stayed in hotels closer to the I-85/exit 6 interchange in the past and not experienced this bug problem on a 1 night stay.
