Mango Moon was a great experiance, a little pricey. But it was a 'romantic' getaway. Monkey's outside the window great food. There were rose petals to greet us. We also liked the big shower and comfy bed. Glad there was air conditioning, because it was very hot and humid. The sunsets and pina coladas were amazing. John, Ivania and Rebecca were all great. They recommended the the best tours and restaurants. Only downfall was that we couldn't get the room we wanted, and every morning we had a bird greeting us by knocking on our window very early. Along with the early monkey calls and them running along the roof. It was a great all around experience.

We stayed at Mango Moon for 4 nights. The room was small but very clean. It had a great view of the ocean. The staff was great always willing to go out of thier way to help. We could walk to restaurants and felt safe. The breakfasts were excellent.

We arrived at Mango Moon just 2 days after our wedding and were met by a STUNNING sunset. The booking process was a little cumbersome and we didn't get the room with an ocean view like we'd been planning, but the hosts Rebeka and John were wonderful and wanted us to be happy honeymooners - they upgraded our room for the first night (from room 1 (no view) to room 5 (partial view)). The place was booked solid the remaining time, so we then went back to room 1 for the remainder of our stay.

The size of the place was perfect, small enough to feel private, big enough to not feel boxed in. The pool was refreshing, the iguana's were fun, and the staff was always friendly. The beach below the hill was great - warm water, sandy bottom and private.

We had selected the honeymoon package and it was worth every penny. Breakfast in bed was AMAZING. The tours were super and the massages a nice addition. The Friday night party was a great way to end our last night at the Mango Moon and we were sad to leave.

Only advice - don't get room 1 unless you don't plan on being in your room much. If you are a honeymooner, get the package deal and upgrade your room, the view is worth it.

“Great Place”

Hotel Mango Moon

Mango Moon is a magic small hotel in a suberb setting in a rain forest overlooking the Pacific ocean. My wife and I spent 8 wonderful days enjoying the view, monkeys and tranquility during the last week of February 2008.
The new owners are friendly and dedicated to making this unique hotel even better. John the Costa Rican manager was very helpful and arranged all our activities and transportation from arrival in San Jose and when we wanted to cancel an activity the last minute there was no problem.
The breakfast's are great with a view of the jungle and ocean while you enjoy your Costa Rican coffee. Friday nights they have a dinner and local band which was great fun.
Anyone who has been to Costa Rica knows that the people are great and friendly. We ate at nearby open air restaurants which all had great sunset views.
We will come back.

“Go Stay in Paradise”

Hotel Mango Moon

I just got back from staying three nights at this lovely hotel. It really is a slice of paradise. The new owner, Rebecca, could not have been more charming and helpful. Her entire team works very hard to insure you have a great stay. The rooms are large and beautifully decorated. Our room had a view of ocean and rain forest with a hammock for lounging on the balcony. One morning we awoke to rare squirrel monkeys playing outside our terrace. There is a wonderful pool to relax in after a day at the beach. There is also a path, directly from the hotel, that takes you to one of the world's most beautiful, but yet private beaches. Fridays are special at Mango Moon: a local group provides music, and a delicious dinner is served with the backdrop of some of the most breath taking scenery in the world. I highly recommend this hotel from the experince and value it provides! - David
