As frequent business and leisure travelers, my wife and I have had the opportunity to visit many different properties both within and outside our United States. I write this review because we especially enjoyed our week at the beautiful Ramada Plaza Herradura while I attended an International Symposium at the Ramada Conference Center. The conference center was large, well equipped, and easily accommodated the large number of attendees and its many parallel sessions. It provided ample space for poster sessions as well. And while I attended the conference, my wife enjoyed sitting by the pool and her visits to the spa. Our room was bright, roomy, and had a beautiful view of the multi-level swimming pool and attractive landscape. The front desk staff was courteous and helpful, the restaurant buffet foods were displayed tastefully, and the wait staff always amazed us by remembering our likes and dislikes-even after our first visit to the restaurant. It’s always difficult to visit, and to attempt to drive in an unfamiliar place- especially when you don’t speak the language of the country. But when we decided to venture out of the hotel to do some sight-seeing on our own, we met the hotel General Manager in the lobby by chance, and he took a personal interest in us. When we explained our driving anxiety, he drove with us to explain the difficult traffic pattern in the vicinity of the Ramada. He always made himself available to answer our questions, suggested sight-seeing excursions, and provided help whenever we needed it. And when my wife developed a medical problem, he arranged for a doctor to visit her at the hotel nearly immediately and arranged for the delivery of an antibiotic to the hotel even though her problem occurred during the evening. Thankfully his personal and rapid response resolved her problem quickly, and she was able to enjoy the remainder of our stay.
