“Very handy to get everthing you need in San Jose downtown”

The best of Hotel Capital is that it is situated in San Jose downtown, just one street away from the National Bank (Banco Nacional) where you can find good rates for money exchange, there's around shops, farmacies, restaurants, etc. very handy indeed.

Owner Bernardo Escobar was very kind and helpful with all the required touristic information/advice/bookings for San Jose and Costa Rica in general. Certainly the key place to arrive/depart Costa Rica.

We didn't have any trouble with the airport pick up, it was easy and reliable, same as the security box and luggage store.

The room was clean, the person with the comment of the cockroaches probably had them in his luggage, because we didn't see any in the hotel.

The price is great if you want to save some money to spend in another treats in costa Rica, specially supporting ecological activities which are fantastic in the country, we have travelled a good variety of places in the world and certainly Costa Rica is the greenest place in the world.

My husband and I would highly recommend this hotel.

The previous review is right. The owner is friendly and kind and helps you with the tourist information for free. He keep your luggage for free for a couple of days. BUT!.... I have to mention Hotel Capital is plenty of cockroach. The really awful smell in the rooms made me sick and I had to go out like crazy looking for somewhere else to stay. Sorry about this comment, but I have to say the truth and help you who are looking for a clean, safe and affordable place to stay. Avoid this hotel

I enjoy the stay in the hotel, bernardo Escobar the owner is so friendly and kind, he help us with all the tourist information for free, he explained us how to travel budget, about securuity, reccommendations about how to travel by bus, he keeps our luggage by free as well as our values.
