This was by far our favorite place to stay in Alaska. The property is lovely, as are the owners. The review written by ceftaf from Jacksonville on July, 12, 2007 gives a very accurate description and mirrors our sentiment exactly. The finer touches to this property -- hand painted murals and tiles; exquisite woods and stone; gorgeous fabrics -- are so beautiful that it is a wonder that the owners are so willing to share them with guests -- but they do, and Michelle and Ron are so friendly and gracious (not to mention great cooks!). The only thing I add is that there are several things that were of great appeal to our children: a hot tub; a jet tub in the bathroom; a vcr in the room with ample movies to select from; a wonderful dog named Ziggy, with whom our children played when we dined upstairs (Ziggy is an upstairs dog and will not visit the rooms downstairs, in case you are not a dog lover). These ammenities kept the kids busy in the rainy weather. And lest you think there are kids running wild at this property, there is really one room that best suits a family...the other guests were couples. Plus, the walls were quite thick such that my husband and I sat in the sitting area outside the room while the kids watched a video, and we did not hear a peep from the room. In fact, the kids were pretty well-behaved the whole time because they thought the place was SO GREAT...hence, my son's parting remark: "Why can't we just spend the whole vacation here?" Thank you for a great visit. Hidden Creek B&B is not going to stay hidden for very long!

Our stay at Hidden Creek Bed and Breakfast was perfect.
The owners thought of every detail when planning this recently opened B and B. Each room is beautifully appointed and the made to order breakfasts are delicious. The common area has a great selection of books, including a large number of Alaska related guidebooks, maps and literature. We were too busy hiking and exploring the Girdwood area to spend much time sitting and reading, but I thought this was a unique and well done feature of this B and B. We have stayed at many b and b's through out the country and our stay at Hidden Creek will be certainly among our most comfortable and memorable stays anywhere. The funky town of Girdwood is a terrific jumping off point for a great deal of Alaska's spectacular scenery and an easy drive from the Anchorage airport. The owners are attentive to the guests needs and will even let you do some laundry if you wish! A minimum of a two or three night stay is perfect for enjoying the area and the luxuries of Hidden Creek. When you know you can return to home made cookies in
your room every afternoon, why would you want to move on? We stayed for four nights but could have easily stayed a night or two longer. We found the links on Hidden Creek's website useful for planning our activities in the area.

My fiance and I stayed at Hidden Creek for two nights, and we were blown away by this B & B. We stayed in the Creekside Suite, which was just beautiful. It was obvious that every item of furniture had been chosen with great care. In fact, we picked up some great decorating ideas by staying here! I just hope we can recreate that combination of elegance and cosiness in our own home.

Ron and Michelle were fantastic hosts. Michelle told us she graduated from cooking school, and it really shows. We had brownies, chocolate cookies, and muffins (blueberry, chocolate-banana and carrot-walnut) during our stay. They were all just divine. The little touches - such as being left a plate of delicious morsels on arrival, and each afternoon - makes all the difference. Not to mention the fact that there was a canister in the room filled with travel essentials (toothpaste, toothbrush, shaving cream, razors, contact solution, etc.) for people who'd forgotten their own. Also very handy when your luggage doesn't arrive with you (ours didn't)!

Coupled with the natural beauty of Girdwood itself, this B & B really surpasses other places we have stayed. We cannot recommend it highly enough!

Hidden Creek B & B was the best place that we stayed during our two weeks in Alaska. It is a new home and it is obvious that a lot of thought went into the planning. The three guest rooms are on a lower level with a common room that has reading books, books on Alaska and binders filled with information on area activities and restaurants. There is a fireplace, a mini fridge and a coffee maker there too. We stayed in the Creekside Suite, which has a living area with a queen size Murphy bed and a queen size sofa bed with an inflatable mattress built in - so no bar in your back. The bedroom has an extremely comfortable queen bed. The bathroom is to die for. It is beautifully decorated and has a huge tub with massage jets and a separate shower with a bench. It was like having our own personal spa. This room worked great for us. Most B & B’s have one bed or full size beds. We are a family of four and tall. We looked for places with a least two queen beds. It was an added bonus to have a room for ourselves and for the kids to each have a comfy bed of their own at a B & B.

We had fresh baked cookies when we arrived and delicious brownies the next night. Breakfast included fresh fruit and muffins (one day they were raspberry pecan - mmmm!) and then a choice of an assortment of hot and cold items, made to order. It changed each day, but we had a bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese, blueberry pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, granola and yogurt. Michelle is a wonderful cook and everything was delicious!

It was a pleasure meeting Ron and Michelle, the hosts. They were informative and gracious and wonderful people to talk to. We hope that when we go back to Alaska they will have room for us, because we will definitely want to stay here again.
