I selected this B&B as my relaxation luxury treat on my trip and was pleasantly surprised when it surpassed my expectations! I stayed at this B&B on my own and was welcomed extremely warmly and friendly by Ron and Michelle who helped with suggestions for hiking, dining, and finding B&Bs in other towns, they were unobtrusive and provided privacy too.
The B&B is very spacious and attractively architected specifically for it's purpose. It's in a gorgeous Alaskan styled house on top of a hill. The first level has a private entrance to the three guest rooms, the owners live on the third level. The rooms are very private and spacious and include a couch sitting area, TV, DVD player and desk. The bathrooms are gorgeous and large (I'd like to model mine after theirs) -- they contain large stone walled showers and beautiful rich wood cabinetry. There is a large closet with comfy slippers and robes. The rooms are impeccably clean, well decorated and inviting. I stayed in the Enchanted Forest Room. I had a peak in all rooms and they were also very nice.
The three guest rooms share a very comfy family room outfitted with a fireplace, huge selection of novels, Alaska travel and nature books, photo albums, and DVDs. The common area has a wet bar/fridge full of sodas, water, locally brewed beer and tea (likely coffee too), and interestingly designed glassware.
Attached to the family room on the outside deck is a hot tub located in the dense pine trees with twinkling stars. The hot tub is probably the best I've been in, comfy seats, with good jets, the perfect water height, and not too hot.
A delicious generous hot breakfast was served in the attractive dinning room that faces the gourmet kitchen. The owners offered a large selection of breakfast options. At breakfast I was visited by their friendly big Alaskan dog, he was quite well behaved and I think they'd surely keep him in another area if you preferred.
The B&B's is located in a wooded area close to a couple of walking trails (one with a waterfall and mossy rainforest trail, where you can gain a little elevation and catch tiny peaks of the Turnagain Arm and another behind the Ski Resort that has manicured walking trails). Girdwood also has excellent restaurants.
I would certainly go back, especially for a romantic get-away or with friends or on my own (it was a gem!).
