Fat Olives is a popular restaurant as the parking lot was nearly full each of the 4 nights we stayed in Homer on this trip. We ordered a wood fired oven pizza and dessert to go as we didn't feel like waiting 30 minutes for a table in the restaurant. They hand toss the dough and have a variety of unusual / gourmet style pizzas. The pizza was good but the desserts are killer. The macadamia nut turtle pie was incredible. We loved the dessert so much we went back to Fat Olives just for dessert even after eating dinner at another restaurant. Peanut butter pie was also scrumptious.

When we were in Homer from 5/13/05 - 5/15/05, some local residents recommended that we eat dinner at Fat Olives, so we tried it out on our second night in Homer. The space is nicely decorated with attention to color and detail to create a pleasing, comfortable ambiance. The food we had was excellent. My husband had the Carnivore Pizza with a wonderful blend of meats on a tasty thin crust. I had the House Calzone filled with roasted garlic ricotta, pesto, mozerella, mushrooms, spinach and artichoke hearts. It was accompanied by a green salad with a potent balsamic vinagrette. For dessert we shared a hefty slice of the dark chocolate cake which was moist and rich. The staff was very professional and adequately attentive. We would certainly eat here again and recommend it highly.
