Red saloon was a lineup so we went off the main street and asked a local lady were she would eat...She wore her nursing scrubs so I figured she was a local res. We had walked by the cafe thinking we would catch a quick bite at Taco Bell only to be told by the nurse that it burnt down 4yrs ago!! She even recommended thechicken wrap with cranberries and walnuts from the cafe. We went back and walked into a whimsical lovely yen-like cafe with all fresh food and homemade baking and organic drinks/teas/coffee/lemonade. We were promptly served by Joan (owner) who is a lovely lady. It is a cafeteria style where you tell Joan what soap/sandwich/salad/baked goods you would like (displayed in the glass cabinet)...But once the sandwiches are sold that's it...No more are available. It feeds locals and a few of us cruise ship types that find this jewel in the rough! It even has a patio out front to enjoy those warm sunrays! The wrap was absolutely delicious and nutricious!! We had a quick and healthy lunch. The price for 2 wraps with salads and a large organic lemonade bottle was $28...Thanks Joan! LC

While waiting for a tour in rainy Juneau on an Alaskan cruise, we stepped into the Paradise cafe to just wait a little bit. A woman was bringing out a beautiful lemon tart with meringue on top and placing it in a display case. It looked so good, I just had to have a piece. It was still warm from the oven. The crust was delicious and the lemon filling was just the perfect amount of sweet to sour. When I paid my bill, she asked me if there was anything else she could get me. I said, "Yes, the recipe". She smiled and gave me a recipe card with the crust recipe - a shortbread cookie dough. If I'm ever in Juneau again, I would go there in a minute!

If your cruise has a destination in Juneau, be sure to eat something there. I'm sure it will be yummy!

Son-in-law came to get my daughter and myself to take to this great cafe which he has just stumbled into, What a great treat. Started with hot, frexh coffee. I had already eaten breakfast, but could not resist having a strawberry pastry--so fresh and light. The apple turnovers were melt in your mouth delicious. Other diners were eating egg sandwiches and quiches which looked great. Loved the decor and relaxed feel. We were sorry that we had to leave Juneau that evening and would not be able to eat there the next morning.

We had breakfast or lunch here every day during a 2 week visit. Absolutely the best breakfast/brunch/lunch place and the service is outstanding. The food is absolutely divine and the price is extremely reasonable. We hated leaving Juneau and leaving this cafe was like leaving family.

Boy are we glad we asked where to go for breakfast in Juneau. We were told to go here by a lady at one of the shops downtown. She mentioned that the woman who owned the shop made everything fresh every day - and did she ever!
The restaurant is quaint and unexpected in this neck of the woods. Bright colors, fun and eclectic decor, and the smells - OH!.
We settled on a slice of veggie quiche which had a delicious crust and a wonderful blend of flavors, and a savory egg and ham sandwich which was made with a delicious scone. This stuff was to die for!
We loved the food so much, we asked her if she'd come back on the ship with us to cook for us! (we were cruising). She did end p giving us her recipe for the scones (already printed on a business card so she must get a lot of requests for them!).
If we're ever in Juneau again, we'll most certainly go back. You should too!
