Room we stayed in needed the carpet cleaned, bathroom needed some updating. But, overall clean. The van to and from the airport was wonderful. Had a young driver who provided a history lesson during the trip, very interesting information. The staff was very kind and helpful. We were on the bottom floor, just a bit noisy from the parking lot, upper floors may be quieter. Very close to downtown, easy walk. The Sandpiper Cafe next to hotel has large, very tasty breakfast.

We stayed at the Driftwood at the beginning and end of our vacation. Both times we had a kitchenette. We loved the place. It was large, clean, and very well located. The courtesy vans fetched transported us to and from the airport and ferry terminal. The drivers were very friendly and helpful. You can see the governor's mansion from the parking lot. Great location...everything you could possibly want either on the property or close by. Laundry facility and free internet available. I highly recommend the Driftwood.

We stayed six nights at the Driftwood. Most of our friends stayed at the Baranof. From what I could tell, we made the best decision. It's definitely Alaska basic but with comfortable bed, good cleanliness and it was great to have a kitchen and living area. We were picked up promptly at the ferry and into our room by 10 a.m. Staff is friendly, computer w/ free internet available in lobby, great restaurant for breakfast & lunch on site--excellent, hot, well prepared food, albeit pricey (but most stuff in Juneau is pricey--remember they have to fly everything in). Laundromat on site; a convenience & liquor store across parking lot and good grocery store a short walk away. Alaska State Museum is in back of hotel, providing good view and lots of squawking ravens. 10 minute walk to downtown/cruise ship docks.

If you're looking for basic comfort at a decent price, Driftwood Lodge is your place. Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. Shuttle service to and from airport and ferry was very helpful. They let me store baggage prior to my stay, and refrigerated items for me overnight. Staff was helpful.
