I am a parent of a soccer player and called the night before we were to be in Juneau. The manager returned my calls promptly, thank you Mr. Davis. Though the team was late in reserving the manager made every possible effort to make our stay pleasant. I looked at many of the hotels in Juneau while I was there, scary. Mr. Davis provided a roll away where needed, gave local information, and always had a smile for us. We took 15 girls on this trip and cooked each meal in the kitchen in the chaperone room, this saved each girl around $80 over the 3 days we were there. Of course it is not fancy or anything like a spa atmosphere, it is clean and spacious with a staff willing to serve. I appreciated the manager and his staff being so helpful and we will stay again when going back to Juneau.

The hotel is a five to ten minute walk from the Airport which is in Mendenhall Valley. It is about 15 kilometres from downtown Juneau. Nonetheless there are plenty of malls nearby. We called for the shuttle and it was there when our bags arrived. The suite consisted of a queen bed and one other single bed. It is a spacious suite with stove, microwave and coffee maker. We had a few moments with getting an internet connection but the service was very good and we were soon able to connect. The rooms are warm and the front desk was helpful and willing to go out of their way to assist. We would stay here again. A car is a very useful addition as it enables one to visit more out of the way places. It is also very wet in Juneau so it is a good way to keep dry.

My wife, teenage son, and I stayed at the Frontier Suites in early August for four nights. The rooms are very comfortable, but our kitchen was a little lacking in dishes, silverware, etc. However, we were able to fix breakfasts and suppers in the room. Safeway is quite close to the Frontier Suites.

The staff is extremely attentive. We asked for extra pillows, and they were brought up almost immediately. We called for a van pick-up at the ferry terminal when we arrived in Juneau, and the van was there within 15 minutes. Many other ferry passengers were staying at hotels that didn't have pick-up service and were waiting an inordinate amount of time for taxis.

We had rented a car from the airport. (No rental cars are available at the ferry terminal.) I would recommend a rental car if you stay at the Frontier Suites.

During a walk through downtown Juneau, I saw some of the hotels available there. I was glad that I selected the Frontier Suites.

At the Frontier Suites, you are very close to the Mendenhall Glacier. Because of its proximity, we drove up to the glacier three different times in one day. During our Juneau stay, we also enjoyed the Mt. Roberts Tram (hiking in the Alpine zone is great!), the salmon hatchery, and the Shrine of St. Therese. All are within a 15-30 minute drive from the Frontier Suites.
