My husband and I planned our mini-weekend getaway at the hotel. It was a short one hour flight away and only a 30minute (if that even) drive from the airport! Super convenient.
I have only the best things to say about this hotel. The views from our room were just absolutely stunning! We had the waves crashing onto the rocks right beneath our balcony...there was never a moment you wouldnt hear the ocean while you sat in the room.
We chose the club rooms as this is a separate part of the hotel with a private pool area just for club users, has its own restaurant and spa too!! we are so glad that we booked ourselves in this part of the hotel because it provided us with just the privacy that we wanted as compared to the rest of the hotel.
Spa: the hotel has two spa's. One was the traditional Kerala massage spa and the other was only for club users that provided the normal swedish, balinese, aromatherapy type massages. We used one each day we were there! They were nice, luxurious but nothing out of the ordinary. The masseur was skilled but not WOW.
Club Cafe: the sous chef made sure we were comfortable at every meal and personally came and checked up on us every now and then. he also accomodated us on a last minute basis and set up a traditional vegetarian kerala thali for us, which was DIVINE! the actual thali consists of 26 different food items!! would highly recommend you as for it in advance and have.
Tides: they had the most romantic setting restaurant by the beach. the beach is public but seems to be quiet secluded and private during dinner. they had a live band that played all ten requests of mine while we ate. Very yummy pan-asian food.
Breakfast: the idli's were arguably the worlds softest ones my husband and I had ever eaten. they also made yummy egg appams with stew!
Down-side: the only down side to the hotel was the snacks menu that you have by the poolside. the vegetarian selection was very limited but the chef did accomodate every out of the menu request of ours :)
Over all a stunning property and one of the best resorts in India id say! A special mention to Mr. Suraj Kumar who popped in every now and then to check up on us and to see if we were having a comfortable holiday!
Would defy recommend to friends and family and also plan a return trip there ourselves. There were lots of families with kids, defintely a family destination.
