You will regret if you dun choose this resort as your stay in canggu. It's a perfect hideaway for people who loves antique & history. Everything was designed and arranged in details. I traveled there by myself for 3 nights. And I was well taken care of from the first step into this resort. Duty Manage, Ian Nabilazahra, should be specially praised here for taking care of me in every ways and arranging everything i needed. You made my trip far more memorable. I felt i was treated like a queen during my stay. I would love to go back again someday or try their sister hotel in Lombok.

we have spent 8 wonderful nights in Tugu bali , it is a perfect mix of luxury, authenticity and casual balinese style.
The antics are everywhere but they seem to belong to the place.
Our suite , in memory of famous painter Walter Spies made me feel like i was back in the 1920's.
our 3 kids had a suite overlooking the beach ,black sand and a bit dangerous but a surfer's heaven .The spa was fantastic thanks to lovely staff.
Staff members are all wonderful and are dedicated to their work.
Breakfast, lunch or dinner are possible at the pool or on the beach at any time .Horseback riding at Sunset on Echo beach was great and all the staff waving goodbye to us when we left was heartbreacking.Semyniak is only 15 mn away but Canguu is quiet and still very authentic.we all miss you already, back to real life but we will return!

Room tip: les rejang suites avec vue mer , la suite walter spies pour la sensation de vivre dans les années 30.

This was the 3rd stop on our 13 day Honeymoom and we stayed 4 nights. The expectations were high for Tugu and it did not disappointment. The food was the best of the three resorts that we stayed at and the ability to dine anywhere was awesome. We ate every meal in a different part of the resort ranging from the beach, to the poolside, to the gallery, to a beautifully decorated room that was dedicated to the struggle for independence from the Dutch, and a dining room meant to re-create Imperial China. The suite was roomy and came complete with a nice bathtub, a view of the beach, along with a plethora of thoughtful, romantic niceties. The service was prompt, personal, and thorough. The only minor annoyances was that the drink service at the beach was a little slow, at times there was a shortage of recliners on the beach, and the security guards would let non-guests from the beach walk through Tugu's private beach area on the way to their motor scooters. Though I am confident that the Manager (Fernando) will take the necessary steps to improve those. Overall Tugu was a great experience and I recommend it without reservation.

Room tip: Rejang suite was nice.

Dear Reid ,
Thank you very much for posting an impressive review on TripAdvisor. We are appreciative of your valuable feedback and are deeply encouraged by your kind words and comments on our hotel.
We all appreciate the wonderful words you have mentioned about little Tugu, particularly about our ambiance, service & impressive facilities in the suite.Specially the dining options we offer : under the thyme of 101 dining temptations.
Our mission of bringing to life the art, culture and romance of Bali and Java does not stop at the decoration and interior design. How you dine is not about food, but it also involves many other aspects such as theme, setting, and the ritual of service, atmosphere, presentation, tradition, and history. So, the possibilities offered are unlimited, as rich Indonesian culture.
We also have taken good note of your comments & appropriate action has been taken to prevent any guests being similarly inconvenienced in the future. We thank you for the valuable feedback.
The entire team and I look forward to welcoming you back to the resort on your next visit to Bali.
With warmest and fondest thoughts of you,
Roshan Fernando.

Wonderful stay. The accommodations were downright sybaritic. Our suite had a personal pool and outdoor shower in an enclosed courtyard. Food and service at the restaurant were extremely good.
An easy stroll down to the beach allowed for a walk on the shore of the Indian ocean at sunset which should be on everyone's bucket list.
The element that captured my devotion at the outset of our stay was the 14 foot carved statue of a birdlike demon that seemed to be straight from a C. S. Lewis novel, which towered over us as we signed in at the hotel lobby.
This luxury does come at a stiff price, however.

Dear Barry,
Thank you posting a great review on the TripAdvisor. Tugu is indeed famous for having one of the most beautiful, vast collection of art and antiquities in Indonesia and besides for the amazing food, service and facilities that you had mentioned above, the hotel itself is a destination by itself to experience the real, authentic, rich and colorful culture of Indonesia in general and of Java in particular.
On behalf of the entire team, I certainly look forward to welcoming you back at the resort in the near future.
With best wishes,
Roshan Fernando.

Fantastic hotel we had a great stay. The rooms are authentically pleasing and very comfortable. The managers went above and beyond to help us with all we needed and more. The breakfast was super but dinner was very average, however the setup by the pool as a special request was so romantic and my wife loved it. The massage treatment was lacking the location was average no lockers or place to put your stuff the lad, that gave me the massage was very good tho. Lastly Canggu is a great area, but very quite compared to Kuta or Semniyak and it at least 40 minutes to get from Hotel to Semniyak.
