2 hours drive from Dubai is not bad because of the breathtaking views of the mountains. Be careful on the road especially the constant change of the speed limits. The hotel doesn't have a big parking so the staff welcomes you with a valet parking which is convenient because all you have to do is go straight to the check-in area. The key card that we got had some technical problem. It can't open the door on one swipe which is annoying. The room is spacious and had a good view of the beach and pools. I didn't notice any water activity, like water ski, para gliding, surfing etc., maybe because of the heat. The pool is clean and its temperature controlled. There's no pool slide but there's a minibar for a fresh orange juice or beer. The life guards are everywhere and ready to rescue you in times of need. Only the kids area had the tent for the sun. There's also a foosball and a table tennis near the pool. We tried to play on the table tennis but the rackets and table is not maintained.
The english breakfast in the morning is good and delicious but not much choices. The staffs are polite and they gave cute little pan cakes for the kids. Request for a late check-out for a quick nap. Checking out is a breeze but there's a room service charge added to your bill that's not supposed to be there so please read before you pay. Because of the busy staff on the check-out time. They have to take me to their electric car and drop me to the valet parking area to get my car then have to drive the long U-turn to enter the hotel again which is a minus point.
Take the Emirates Road going back to Dubai to save 30 minutes of the trip.
When I got back to Dubai, I realized that I forgot my charger in our room. I called the Lost and Found department and they we're very helpful. They scheduled a date and deliver my charger to their nearest Radisson Blu in Dubai.
The closest to the elevator, the better.
