We just spent a week at Traders Ridge this February and I can't say enough how wonderful our stay was. Everyone staff member was devoted to making sure we had a great experience. The hotel itself was immaculately clean and beautiful. Fresh flowers were on our bed every night at turn down.
When we first planned our trip, we considered staying at the Manta Ray Bay. After stopping by that hotel for dinner and drinks one night, we were so glad we didn't stay there. If you are a dive hooligan that wants to drink and party all night, then Manta Ray Bay is the place for you. If you are looking for tranquility and peace and a little luxury on your trip, then Traders Ridge is your best bet.
By the way, the food was outstanding.

Stayed at the Traders Ridge Lodge in Yap in February 2006. A beautiful plantation style hotel with the best food on the island. Haute cuisine to be sure. Very friendly staff. Would suggest divers go with Manta Ray Dive Resort for their diving. We weren't crazy about the dive resort associated with Traders Ridge. But highly recommend you stay with them during your visit to Yap.

The hotel has no Tv and Wireless internet only a small room charging 2.50 for 15 minutes!!
The management is ok but htey are very moneyhungry probably the cause of the low occupancy. For example they charge an exceptional amount of money for a late checkout. Also daytrips are uber expensive. The staff are ok but not particularly talkative.

We stay for 4 nights, in the Traders' Ridge, the hotel is the best choice in Yap island, the staff was very helpfull, the service and the food was good but expensive, also the excursions are too expensive, expecially forbidden island 1/2 day $95 per person!!!
