We stayed at the Westmark Tok as part of a Holland America Cruisetour.

First I need to say that there's not much in Tok. It's an area of services on the Alaska Highway. It was just an overnight stop. That being said, the hotel went out of its way to make us feel comfortable and at home.

The room was clean and quiet. Everything worked fine and the mattresses were firm. Also, there's a dressing area outside of the bathroom, which makes it quicker to get going in the mornings.

We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food was very good, service was very good and the price was reasonable. My wife had reindeer sausage.

The hotel had several PC's for guests' use and I didn't have any difficulty getting access to one.

We stayed at the Westmark Tok overnight as part of our Holland America land-cruise through the Yukon Territories and Alaska.

We arrived at Tok quite late, and we had a very early morning start the next day, so this stop-over was simply a matter of somewhere to sleep and have a meal and the Westmark suited us fine for that.

The rooms are in separate rows of cabins and are comfortable if basic. Our rooms were clean and the beds were fine - although we were so tired by that stage of the tour we could have slept on the floor and been happy!

On the plus side the bar/restaurant of the Westmark was fantastic with a great feel about it and a good range of drinks (the huge margaritas are a must!) and simple but delicious cooking - such as buffalo wings, halibut etc.

We're planning a return visit to the Yukon/Alaska area for a future holiday and we will definitely be looking to stay at the Westmark Tok again

This is where the tour bus people stay. It's all right, nothing spectacular but probably the best available in Tok. There was a new business opening next door with some very cute log cabins. We took a peek at the insides. We would probably give them a try if we did this trip again. The best restaurant in town was across the highway - Fast Eddy's. Their peanut butter pie was to die for. The food was much better than that on offer in the Westmark.

I ended up staying at this property after canceling a reservation at an unacceptable property in Beaver Creek. I arrived without a reservation and since this hotel mostly caters for bus groups they were rather full. All that was left was a king-bed room for $109. The hotel does not look much from the outside as the barracks resemble a military camp. However the room we got was very nice. It was spacious and had everything I needed (hair dryer, coffee maker, TV ...). Although dated it was well maintained and clean. It was interesting to notice the moisture around the toilet and the sign explaining this happens because of the ice cold water running on permafrost. The bathroom was small, but clean. All in all I was satisfied with the amenities offered at this hotel in the middle of nowhere. I was less satisfied with staff services. The check-in was confused and they did not want to accept Diners although their advertisement stated they do accept it. Moreover I wanted to make a reservation for another stay at this property when returning from Central Alaska and was told "they were not sure if they were fully booked, so I should phone the central reservation service"?!? It seems the staff at this hotel are only trained to deal groups arriving with Holland America buses and get confused when they need to serve an individual guest.

“Wonderful!”

Wow, after days of touring how nice it was to get to the Westmark Inn, Tok. The manager himself greeted us on the bus and welcomed us to his hotel, very nice touch. The rooms were spotless with extra pillows. They were nice size rooms with a small table/chairs, AIR CONDITIONING, coffee pot, hairdryer, room darkening curtains and all the extras Westmarks usually have. There is a wonderful laundry facility which they kept open late which was VERY nice. Lots of washers and driers! The restaurant was great! The Mexican food was excellent and drinks generous. Again..open late which was very helpful, as was the gift shop. The gift shop is a discount gift shop and we got tons of "made in Alaska" things here at great prices. The lobby had free internet and payphones. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If all hotels were this nice, we'd never want to go home!
