I spent 3 nights at the Lake Lucille and enjoyed it very much. The lake view room was clean and well appointed. The small deck was a nice to watch the lake - lovely view. It costs a few dollars more than the non-view (read parking lot view) on the other side of the building, but it's worth it. The room was very clean and had lots of towels. I really appreciated the candy on the table! The lobby is lovely, with a fireplace and lots of comfortable seating. I can't speak to the food since my meetings kept me from eating in the restaurant.

My only complaint is this: the hotel is completely non-smoking. In fact, when you sign in, you agree to pay a $500 charge if you smoke in the room. However, the lounge is NOT non-smoking. When I walked back into the lobby about 10pm on Saturday night, the stench was almost unbearable. And it wafted down the hall as I walked to my room. If they are going to have smoking in the bar, having a better air circulation system is a must. For me, one of deciding factors to staying there was the fact it was a no smoking hotel.

We had a major event here, and the hotel was perfect. Staff was very accomodating to many small and large requests, and the location was excellent. Ask for the lake facing rooms, which have small decks with beautiful views of the lake, unless you really like views of the parking lot. The restaurant is good for the area, service was outstanding, but the food is only good.That being said, food was better than the three other higher end restaurants in Wasilla. If you are looking for great food, go to Anchorage, or hit the local brewpub and down a few pints -- as long as you consider beer a food, you'll be in heaven. I would come back all the way to Wasilla just to use lovely casual hotel as a jumping off point for exploring Alaska, and I definitely plan on holding my next event here.

I and my wife stayed at this hotel in May 2002 and still miss this place. The hotel is beautiful and the lake view is breathtaking with the mountains in the back. Can't wait to go back

The prime rib was very thin, very well done and tasted awful. My wife ordered the shrimp scampi and took a bite and spit it right out. I tasted it and it sure did taste rotten. When we told the waitress, we were treated very rudly so we just refused to pay for dinner and walked out. Prices are very spendy which I don't mind but the food had better be good and this definately was not. I do reccomend the MatSu Resort to anyone visiting Wasilla. They have much better food and service.
