I booked on the recommendation of Tripadvisor when traveling between Sedona and Santa Fe. Yes, it was clean, the owner was very sweet on check in,and the being able to wash our laundry midtrip (carry-on only for a 9 day trip) was convenient, but the room smelled very strongly of bug spray. I coughed all night long, the bed sheets smelled very strong. The front desk attendant was very nice and apologetic about it when I commented the next day and stated that yes, they do bomb the rooms on a monthly basis, but that was about it. I can appreciate the dedication of keeping the rooms bug free, but honestly....once a month. Sounds and smelled excessive. Maybe they don't they change the linens after bombing....all I know is that it ruined my stay absolutely.

Nicely kept facility, clean rooms and bathrooms. Missing a iron/ironing board and a computer for general net surfing although the owner offered his personal laptop for internet access.

After checking-in to the Wig Wam motel for a total of two hours, the moldy smell and noise from the nearby rail line overtook us and we decided to look for something else. Driving through town we stopped at the Travellodge on a whim. Our luck was looking up!

Although this is an older "motor-inn" type of hotel, it is very clean and well maintained. Our single room was big, clean and very well kept. Everything worked as it should, including the a/c, free Internet Wi-Fi, TV, phone, etc... Although this may seem like a given, it was appreciated after our experience at the Wig Wam Motel!

The manager (which I believe lives on-site with his wife) was courteous and very helpful, pointing out the best places to grab dinner and some local info on things to see. When he mentioned free continental breakfast, I was expecting little more than cereal and toast - but that wasn't the case as there was waffles, eggs, sausage, juice, coffee, muffins... and the list goes on.

If you're planning on visiting Petrified Forest Nat'l Park or just driving through Holbrook on a Route 66 pilgrimage; I would highly recommend that you consider staying at this Travelodge.

Debbi Cheema and her husband are the best managers, not only are they kind, and warm, they have the cleanest rooms, the best breakfasts, and they helped us for our plans the next day when we were going sight seeing, actually, if we ever were in that part of the country again, we would stay at there place, I highly recommend it...
