We spent a night here on our way along the Garden Route, big mistake - it should have been longer!

We were warmly welcomed by the owners parents who were looking after the place whilst she was on holiday and they couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful.

We were the only people staying which we thought may have been an inconvienience. If it was they didn't let on!

Rooms were well furnished and compared to some other places we stayed more rustic, but that doesn't mean less comfortable. We had excellent views from the balcony and the lounge and dining areas were superb.

Storms River village is very small...very small. Limited choice for eating out but we found The Armagh a small restuarant just a short walk away more than adequate and much more to our liking than the larger hotel which apart from a few stores offering adverture trips basically is the village!

Breakfasts were more than adequate and offered a good selection of fruit, cereals and cooked etc.

It was rather cold when we visited S Africa and this was certainly the only place where we felt too hot in the bedroom as they even provided gas heaters in the rooms. Very cosy.

If wanting somewhere to stop to explore the Tstisikamma Park then you could do a lot worse than stay here. Maybe not five star luxury but then is that what you want in an area of natural beauty? There is lots to do here in terms of walking, a nature lovers paradise. Our mistake was not allowing long enough.

In terms of welcome, location and home comforts though this is certianly 5 star in our opinion.

“Great, peaceful location”

At The Woods Guest House

This guest house is located in Storms River Village in the National Park. We stayed here for two nights towards the end of our stay in South 'Africa. We had a pleasant room upstairs facing the road, which was clean, comfy and had a balcony. Unfortuntately, the rooms facing the mountains were fully booked. We were originally booked into a downstairs room facing the garden, but it seemed a little musty and not so airy as the room upstairs so we asked if we could move. The owner, Bev, was very helpful and we moved upstairs immediately. The breakfasts were tasty and ample. Storms River Village is a quite spot with not too much going on - just the way we wanted it. Bev's parents were also there on the second morning and were also very friendly. A good little place to stop off on your journey along the Garden Route.

“Fab!”

We absolutely loved staying at this guest house! The hosts Marco and Bev were fabulous, nothing was too much trouble and they had loads of ideas on what you could do in the area. We had our evening meal at the guest house which consisted of a braii (bbq) and it was absolutely delicious. The dessert to die for!

The room was lovely and clean, and had all the mod cons including a fridge and a kettle! The shower was really fabulous as well. The pool, although not quite finished when we were there, was lovely.

This is a must stay place if you are visiting Tsitsikamma!

This is a really nice guesthouse in a nice little town. The owners created a kolonial theme at the place and did some great work to make it look real African. Big rooms, nice lounges with books and magazines and lovely balconies with awesome views. And every other day the owner cooks for her guests, fantastic food! We loved it all!

Located along the Garden Route, Tsitsikamma National Park is a must stop. It is a beautiful park, with many nice hikes (some short, some long), with varying terrain (forest, ocean, beach, etc). If you find yourself visiting the park, and wanting to stay in the area, then Storms River is the closest place. It is not a particular fantastic place, and there is nothing to do, but it is a good stoppiing point.

At The Woods Guest House is relatively new, and is very nice. The owners are friendly and accommodating. Perhaps the nicest part is the sitting area and balcony where you can just relax and have a glass of wine. The rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast was good. Overall a relaxing place to spend the night. Would definitely recommend. The only complaint is that there is only one restaurant nearby, and it was nothing special.
