We spent a night here on our way along the Garden Route, big mistake - it should have been longer!
We were warmly welcomed by the owners parents who were looking after the place whilst she was on holiday and they couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful.
We were the only people staying which we thought may have been an inconvienience. If it was they didn't let on!
Rooms were well furnished and compared to some other places we stayed more rustic, but that doesn't mean less comfortable. We had excellent views from the balcony and the lounge and dining areas were superb.
Storms River village is very small...very small. Limited choice for eating out but we found The Armagh a small restuarant just a short walk away more than adequate and much more to our liking than the larger hotel which apart from a few stores offering adverture trips basically is the village!
Breakfasts were more than adequate and offered a good selection of fruit, cereals and cooked etc.
It was rather cold when we visited S Africa and this was certainly the only place where we felt too hot in the bedroom as they even provided gas heaters in the rooms. Very cosy.
If wanting somewhere to stop to explore the Tstisikamma Park then you could do a lot worse than stay here. Maybe not five star luxury but then is that what you want in an area of natural beauty? There is lots to do here in terms of walking, a nature lovers paradise. Our mistake was not allowing long enough.
In terms of welcome, location and home comforts though this is certianly 5 star in our opinion.
